Food donation is now law in California - #SB1383 requires that all food generators in the state establish plans to donate their surplus food. ?? County inspections are currently underway across the state, and those who are found to be in non-compliance could potentially be penalized with a sliding scale of fees. I left my visit with Tommy Halvorson and his team at Foxtail Catering and Events & @myRadish in SF feeling so energized and inspired. That means?$100K reinvested?into the incredible non-profits and food rescue organizations (FROs) we collaborate with—ensuring they’re compensated for their vital work in food recovery.
