Exactly four months ago today, we installed the first universal wireless charging station for shared electric micromobility in the US to support the Capital District Transportation Authority’s CDPHP Cycle! (https://lnkd.in/dX8xWfJY) bikeshare system, in Amsterdam, NY. Since May 23rd 2023, re:Charge’s universal wireless charging solution has made Drop Mobility’s bikes accessible to more people in Amsterdam, NY, while helping Shared Mobility Inc bikeshare operations. After four full months of operation, the universal wireless system has not had any reliability issues, and we have been learning valuable lessons from this public deployment which we look forward to using when we work on larger deployments. This accomplishment would not be possible without the involvement and support of the following organizations: WiBotic, the provider of our wireless power transfer technology. Drop Mobility, the ebike provider for CDPHP Cycle!, who helped us retrofit their excellent ebikes to receive power wirelessly. Shared Mobility Inc, the operator of CDPHP Cycle!, who provided valuable insight into the impact of battery charging on bikeshare operations. The City of Amsterdam, NY (www.amsterdamny.gov) for hosting our charging station. The Capital District Transportation Authority (www.cdta.org), owner of the bikeshare system. Their leadership in integrating bikeshare into larger transit systems and their willingness to support efforts to make bikeshare better is remarkable. #micromobility #charging #ebikes #climatesolutions #bikeshare #equity
