I truly have some amazing clients!! This is an awesome testimony of her hard work! Amazing and congrats to you Dr. Theresa Horne, CPTM, CSM, SHRM-SCP
**Announcement** So as promised, I am elated to share news of a change in my pathway. As many of you know, I have had an adventurous career with intense projects and places, all have made me grow in ways I couldn't have dreamed. Two years ago, I joined the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency to structure and lead the Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity.?With the support of my leadership, I have been proud of all the gains we have made for America’s Gatekeepers and the public at large. Such as: - Developed and released the first DCSA DEIA Strategic Plan with an established DEIA maturity model. - Streamlined and automated the Reasonable Accommodations process and case management system. - Partnered with research and consultancy contractors to embed DEIA principles into background investigator training. - Launched an agencywide newsletter, InVision, to strengthen communication pathways from HQ to Field operations. - Launched the Field Special Emphasis Program Managers initiative geared towards embedding DEIA into Field operations, building collaboration and alignment across mission functions. - Implemented numerous policies to include the first ever DEIA Policy signed by the DCSA Director to highlight the importance of an inclusive workplace. - Empowered staff to create unique programs like “Cultural Conversations” webinars and the Navigating the Clearance Process campaign which hosted over 25 sessions to demystify the security clearance process for underrepresented segments of the public. - Created and trained over 2,000 DCSA employees and 150 external Federal partners in Unconscious Bias and Cultural Inclusivity training which deep dived into stereotypes, microaggressions and bias in an engaging, conversational way. - Led an office restructure and team offsites geared towards teambuilding, planning and change management. - Partnered with the DCSA Deputy Director to host listening sessions across 13+ states and held over 160+ one-on-one listening sessions geared towards hearing the voice of the workforce to help build the culture action plan. - Restructured the Diversity and Equal Opportunity office to ensure culture and strategy were top focuses on how we proactively think about sustainability of DEIA, build the culture from the Field to HQ, and align DCSA values. With all of the aforementioned successes, you’re probably wondering why this sounds like a Dear John letter. Well, that’s because it is. I will miss many DEO teammates that made my job easier and incredibly fun as a leader. I will miss the leaders that give their all to the mission but give equally in measure to their staff. ? I am very excited to announce that as of two weeks ago, I have joined the National Endowment for the Arts as their first Chief Diversity Officer.?I am excited to start this journey that speaks to my passion for the arts. Many who know me personally, will nod and see the synergy in this choice. Onward!
