Last month, several staff members JUMPED at the chance to fill out a bracket in the name of friendly competition and some serious bragging rights. A whopping 17 contestants participated in the very last-minute MADNESS at RCS Empowers, Inc pool. CONGRATULATIONS to our "FINAL FOUR!" No. 1: MONICA's bracket was a slam dunk with 161 points! No bricks for BEN, with 153 points! KARLI, kept her cool, took the assist and was close behind with 151 points! Earlier this week, the Ellwood H. May Environmental Park, or @maywoodsheboygan, opened its doors and groves to RCS Empowers, Inc. Participants enjoyed learning about tapping trees and making maple syrup, and were very happy to sample the finished product with pancakes! Two groups from RCS had the pleasure of visiting the facilities - one on Monday (check out that snow!) and the other on Tuesday. What a difference a day makes! Maywood provides such a unique experience to all who visit! RCS is fortunate to have a strong relationship with Maywood, as we do with many other outstanding Sheboygan-area organizations, which allows us to offer enriching and inclusive opportunities to individuals with disabilities. Last week, RCS Empowers, Inc. hosted a special @sheboygancountychamber VIBE@5 event celebrating our 70th ANNIVERSARY! It was a privilege to open our doors to some of Sheboygan County's finest business people. Guests enjoyed guided tours, an array of delicious hors d'oeuvres (made by the talented women in RCS' own Food Services), and plenty of time for networking. The group was tremendously engaged and eager to learn more about how RCS serves the community. As RCS Empowers, Inc. celebrates 70 years of service in the community, it's only FITTING to recognize @wigwamsocks. Did you know? Wigwam has been committed to our community since 1905 - that's incredible! The longtime friendship is a MATCH made in heaven or, more appropriately, SHEBOYGAN! Briefly, here's how it works: Wigwam has plenty of socks to PAIR. Coincidentally, our Participants really enjoy a good project - particularly those which involve puzzling. In search of mates, lonely singles arrive at RCS where the tedious task of candidate selection begins. Lucky couples then make their way to the Wigwam Outlet Store where they will be presented for purchase as a PAIR. Earlier today, during the bustle of the cafeteria at lunchtime, staff at Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School were presented with the RCS Empowers, Inc. March 2025 Employer of the Month Award. Despite the timing, everyone was as welcoming as the cheerful mailbox perched at the entrance of the parking lot. 🚌📪☀ CONGRATULATIONS to Lincoln-Erdman Elementary School - we appreciate their willingness to collaborate with RCS' Employment Services as partners for the success of others!
