Fly Ash is #transloaded for #FinalMile transport at RCR Taylor Rail Park. The conveyor system transfers the material by lowering the spout and securing the cone to the truck's top opening. Gravity allows the hopper car to unload fly ash onto the conveyor belt, which then carries it above the truck, where it travels down the spout and is deposited inside. Our Partner Spotlight for February is Logan Orsak with RITD. Logan has been working on the RCR Rail Park Project for the past 2 years and is a track designer. When asked what his favorite part of the RCR Rail Park Project has been he responded: ????“What I love most about working on the RCR Rail Park Project is the opportunity to apply creative design solutions that maximize the use of rail infrastructure. I enjoy developing layouts that efficiently serve as many lots as possible while optimizing rail car storage and incorporating rail-served buildings. Additionally, I take pride in creating compelling marketing exhibits that showcase the full potential of these available lots for prospective clients. Perhaps the most rewarding aspect is visiting the site and seeing my designs come to life, knowing they contribute to a well-planned and functional rail park.” It’s clear he has a love for rail design, but in his spare time he enjoys playing kickball and volleyball as well as less athletic activities like playing dominoes and going to the movies.
