Another week, another video (or two). This time starring our very own Scott Harmon, as well as Great Lakes RCAP's Cindy Brookes. Both of these videos highlight issues private well owners face, focusing mainly on lead and PFAS. Throughout both videos, RCAP teaches viewers how to identify, mitigate, and sometimes solve the cause of these issues. You can find these videos in our RCAP Training Video Series, https://lnkd.in/gFGJFqEx. Or you can click on each one individually, PFAS in Well Water - https://lnkd.in/g92FPfsm. Thank you to Mr. Flores and the Jim Wells Fresh Water Supply District #1 in Ben Bolt, Texas for hosting the RCAP network on a site visit of your community. Colonias are an important part of clean drinking water and sanitation work in rural areas. Colonias are defined as rural communities near the US-Mexico border that lack access to any combination of sufficient clean water, sewer, or housing accommodations. Learn more about the work RCAP does with Colonias here: https://ow.ly/eZXm50UVXag #cleandrinkingwater #rural #cleandrinkingwater #rural

As the wildfires still rage on in Southern California, we wanted to highlight the amazing firefighting work being done by firefighting crews from at least five tribal nations. Two California-based tribes, the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Yurok Tribe, the Klamath Tribes in Oregon, the Navajo Nation, and Montana’s Blackfeet Nation are all sending fire crews. Additionally, the Pechanga tribe is offering financial assistance to those affected by the fires. You can read more about their efforts here, https://lnkd.in/g-SBZ-uj. Our hearts go out to all those affected and those risking their lives to combat these fires in Southern California. Thank you to ICT (formerly Indian Country Today) for publishing this article.
