What did we take away from Fintech Meetup? A sharper view of where inclusive finance is heading—and who’s building it. Rebalance Capital was out in Las Vegas this month, starting with Fintech Meetup. The big highlight for us was co-hosting a happy hour on The Future of Inclusive Finance with Jacob Haar (Community Investment Management), Robin Volk, CFA (Citi Impact Fund), and Ashwini Krishnamurthy (J.P. Morgan Impact Finance & Advisory). We brought together investors, operators, and founders who are expanding access to financial services through technology, including Gabriela Estrada, Co-Founder and CEO of Rebalance portfolio company Vexi, which approved 1.6 million credit cards for Mexicans with limited or no access to credit. The energy and exchange of ideas reflected just how much momentum this work has. A few takeaways that stood out from the week’s conversations: ??Cash flow-based lending is gaining real traction, with Section 1033 acting as a key catalyst. (Misha Esipov, Nova Credit) ??Bill smoothing offers meaningful value for LMI households—and strong potential as a credit-building tool. (Kurtis Lin, Pinwheel) ??Tech integration is no longer the barrier it once was—pre-built partner APIs are changing the calculus for large institutions. (Sumeet Bhalla, CFA, PenFed Credit Union) ??Employers are becoming the new social safety net, a trend reinforced by recent policy changes. These themes reinforce our conviction in FinTech’s role in enabling economic mobility—and the importance of backing the builders leading that change. #FinTech #FinanceatWork #InclusiveFinance

Congratulations to Michael Rudoy and the whole Jetty team on its merger with Rhino! The combination creates the largest US security deposit platform with over 6 million rental units, which has saved $4 billion of move-in?costs to date for renters with an average FICO of 620. With its distribution through property owners and managers, Jetty illustrates Rebalance Capital's thesis that partnering with trusted intermediaries is a winning GTM for servicing low- and middle-income households at scale. We look forward to working with Alex Fiance, Georges Clement, and their team and supporting Rhino + Jetty in?their next phase of growth!

It was a privilege to participate in this week’s PEI’s NPM Impact & Transition Summit. Rebalance Capital Managing Partner Josh Tanenbaum spoke about employee-centric solutions, skills gaps, and the role of AI in the workforce. Here are some of our key learnings from the conference: - Anna Snider from Bank of America shared that there is an absence of product focused on social inclusion in the market, but Chavon Sutton shared they have spent meaningful time digging into funds in this theme - William Orum from Capricorn Investment Group discussed a missing-middle of impact asset managers with $250M-$5B AuM - Liz Roberts from highlighted that MassMutual views inequality as a systemic risk to the economy, a theme we have been focused on ever since Ray Dalio’s 2016 research on this topic! - Sheena Strawter-Anthony from William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund discussed how an exclusive focus on the latest innovation can leave underserved populations behind: we agree and believe industries and populations catching up to the tech frontier represent an enormous impact and commercial opportunity - Jennifer Pryce and Joohee Rand emphasized the importance of intermediaries in the space in bridging the gap from asset owners to end users in the impact ecosystem: a wonderful parallel to our thesis about the role of intermediaries in our investment sectors It was great to see old friends and make new ones: Amy Nelson, Sabari Raja, Ashley Bittner, Tong Gu, Jennifer Kenning, Patience Marime-Ball, Esq., Chavon Sutton, Yigal Kerszenbaum, Daryn Dodson, Peter Lupoff, Smitha Das, Kate Huntington, Eric Hsueh, CAIA, Jacob Haar, Mark Hays, Liz Roberts, Akasha Absher, Roraj Pradhananga, William Orum, Mark Berryman, Priya Parrish, Nicolle Richards, Akasha Absher, Jack Moriarty, Marieke Beeuwkes Spence, Lauren Sercu, CFA, Garrett Jaso, Karan Gupta
