We are absolutely thrilled to be here with?Engineers Without Borders Australia, BPP Global,?and?the Australian Government,?as part of the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific. Tomorrow at 16:30 UTC+4, we will be presenting our newest initiative: Providing renewable energy to empower off grid coffee growing communities across Timor-Leste Over 1/3 of the country’s households rely on coffee for a portion of their income, yet productivity is extremely low. Constructing a network of community hubs, powered by renewable energy, is one way we can help to change that. Through various inputs, coffee can become a reliable and profitable crop for those who need it most. Did you know that you can now watch our coffee processing guides on the Raw Material YouTube channel? There are 12 guides online now, with more to follow. Knowledge share is vital to our efforts to maximise the impact coffee can have for producers worldwide. These videos are hosted by Miguel Fajardo Mendoza, a third generation coffee producer, who operates El Fénix in Colombia. This series was filmed in Timor-Leste, as we began our work there in 2018. We are thrilled to have this series now available online, so please share them far and wide. Whether you produce, roast, or brew coffee, everyone benefits from understanding the tremendous efforts that go into green coffee's production.

We had an absolute blast with the Rave Coffee team last week, celebrating the efforts of Mexican and Timorese coffee producers. We discussed the similar hurdles faced by producers in both countries, tasted their coffees, and transported ourselves to both places through the magic of VR. Oh, and had some tasty coffee soft serve to boot. Thanks to everyone who joined us, we can't wait to do it again! ??
