You might have seen my video announcement last week, but in case you didn’t: The DEI ER will not be returning in 2025. But, this isn’t goodbye! Far from it. Before I announce what’s next, I want to take some time to celebrate the countless hours of work that went into The DEI ER. Since we launched the show in February 2022, we’ve had 135 episodes while featuring more than 300 guest contributors and over 10,000 attendees. Each week, we've explored critical topics, shared stories, and built a community of DEI professionals who are shaping the future. It’s been such an inspiring experience, and while we are wrapping up The DEI ER, my team and I are already working behind the scenes to bring you something special. Join me on Friday, January 17th, 2025, for our final episode of The DEI ER, where I’ll share exciting information about what’s coming next from me and my team. Stay tuned for all the exciting updates coming in January 2025! I’ll see you then. In Community, Raven Solomon

It's time to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD)! The history of this day began in 1992 when it was made an official annual day by the United Nations. It falls on December 3rd of each year. This year's theme is "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future." IDPWD is about celebrating our power and our value as disabled people. We know we’re important. We know we matter, but the world doesn't always value us. We’re in every community across the world. We’re your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, partners, classmates, and more. While IDPWD can be celebratory, it's also a call to action to continue the work of building a better world for all, free of ableism. We still need real inclusion and accessibility in our communities. To commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, I’m honored to have two speaking engagements this week. In the workplace, I hope leaders acknowledge this day and use it as an opportunity to continue elevating discussions about disability awareness and inclusion, as well as taking action. I also encourage all disabled people reading this to embrace your disability identity and make more cross-disability connections. Embracing my disability and finding disability pride has changed my life for the better. Finding community with other disabled people, including those with different disabilities than my own, has been affirming and healing. What will you or your organization be doing for IDPWD? #DisabilityInclusion #IDPWD #Disability
