Raven Software recently had the pleasure of hosting a special group of guests at the studio! Matt Booty - Xbox's President of Game Content and Studios, Rob Kostich - President, Activision, and Dave Stohl - Head of Development, Call of Duty. Studio head Brian Raffel and COO David Pellas took our guests down memory lane, through over 3 decades of game development. The group then hosted an open Q&A for employees to discuss the many years ahead. We're thankful for this visit and for the privilege of being part of such a huge and exciting project.

Over the past couple of weeks, Brian Raffel and David Pellas hosted a number of special guests at our studio including Representatives John Macco, Clint Moses, Nate Gustafson, among others! It is always exciting to give local partners a peek into the world of Call of Duty. Projects like this are the culmination of years of work by thousands of specialized professionals from all around the world - many of them right here in Middleton, Wisconsin. We’re always thankful when opportunities present themselves to share our work with our local community.

Our motion capture team had the opportunity to show Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin and Associate Dean Faisal Abdu’Allah, among other University of Wisconsin-Madison representatives, a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into making games like Call of Duty a reality!

We were thrilled to make another exciting connection this week, joining Chancellor Mnookin for an action-packed tour of the?Raven Software?headquarters in Middleton. Along with colleagues from the?School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison,?UW-Madison CDIS, and?Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association, we had the pleasure of hearing the story of how Raven got its start from co-founder and UW–Madison alum?Brian Raffel. We were amazed by the expanse of specialization in Raven’s work and delighted to learn more about the company's desire and efforts to strengthen connections to local education.? ? Thanks to Brian Raffel, David Pellas, and all the members of Raven’s team (including many former Badgers!) for a wonderful visit – we look forward to growing our partnership!

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of hosting representatives from School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison, UW-Madison CDIS, and Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association at our studio! Co-founder Brian Raffel shared the story of how it all started, showcased the breadth of specialization that our industry has to offer, and emphasized our desire to strengthen our involvement with local education. A special thank you to Chancellor Jennifer Mnookin, Tom Erickson, Faisal Abdu'Allah, Meg Sensenbrenner, Crystal Potts, and John Garnetti for coming out to see what over three decades of homegrown game development looks like! We were also able to get a picture of our guests with our very own UW Madison alumni. ??
