The BIDMC Fellowship in Disaster Medicine is proud to have collaborated with the Department of Health Abu Dhabi on a successful demonstration of the CBRN capabilities of the region. The more we practice and simulate these low frequency, high acuity events, the better prepared we are.

One of the better security events I've participated in was brought to us by Silicon Valley Security Group yesterday, hosted by eBay at their headquarters in San Jose. Great presentations, and demos of how Private and Public collaboration is key in the Law Enforcement and Security space. Great presentations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Robert Tripp, Michael Gimbel, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Skip Crockett and Adam Luke, Matt Smith of Palo Alto Networks, Christopher Pimentel of Crisis24, Dale Buckner of Global Guardian, Susan Goggins of Starbucks, Brian K. Tuskan of ServiceNow and Cop to Corporate (Life After Law Enforcement), Colin Whittington, Steve Lagorio , Eric Donelan Thanks to eBay for hosting and the hospitality, special thanks to Ricardo Segovia, Chomnan Loth, DBA, ITPM, Jackie Perez, Amanda Carrera Pritters, Allison Sands, CPP, Emily Allen, Kit Gould, MBA, Jesse L.?? for putting this conference together. Great seeing old friends B.J. Hewitt, APP, PSP, Matt Crosswhite, Devon Taggart, Jessica Hendrickson, Miriam Tyson Jones, Justin Clark and many others, and to meeting new friends and colleagues in the industry. I've been honored to watch this group grow from a few members based out of Silicon Valley to now thousands of members across the country from So Cal to Washington State to Boston, and New York. I'm very excited for the future of this group. #publicprivatepartnership #P3

???????????????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????????????? ?????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????? Conventional security procedures may not be sufficient in the complicated security environment of today. To tackle new risks and guarantee the best possible results, businesses need to investigate creative solutions. Including trained medical personnel in security squads is one such tactic. Medical practitioners offer a special set of abilities to the table, especially those with experience in emergency medicine, disaster response, and field care. In high-risk situations, their knowledge of medical evaluation, treatment, and triage can be quite helpful. For instance, medical personnel can react rapidly to circumstances involving mass casualties or active shooters, prioritizing care and offering injured parties emergency medical attention. Strong medical preparation plans can also be developed and implemented with the help of medical specialists with experience in hot zones, limited supplies, and extended field care. They may assist organizations in locating any weak points, creating backup plans, and making sure staff members are equipped with the skills necessary to handle difficult situations. Organizations can improve their overall preparation, response times, and ultimately the safety and well-being of their principals by including medical specialists in their security teams.

XPJ Medics at the Forefront of Disaster Response Proud to share that XPJ medics are actively contributing as part of the Special Missions Unit (SMU) within the Florida State Guard, standing at the forefront of disaster response efforts. As Hurricane Helene approaches, the SMU is prepared with shallow-water vessels, chainsaws, and shelf-stable meals, ready for rapid deployment to assist Florida’s most impacted communities. We take immense pride in being part of initiatives that make a real difference to the safety and resilience of our communities. Our medics are highly trained and always prepared to step into the most challenging situations—whether it's in a remote country or right here at home. #XPJ #FloridaStrong #DisasterResponse #CommunityFirst

XPJ executed this mission exceptionally well. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to collaborate with such a skilled and professional team. Our philosophy is unwavering: we do not accept the notion of “impossible.” #medevac #pararescuemen #paramedics #protectivemedicine

Mission Accomplished – Overcoming the Impossible On Sunday, September 15th, my CEO, Anthony Goulart, reached out with a critical problem: a security guard in Haiti had suffered a life-altering injury—breaking his neck and now quadriplegic. For the past 3 days, more than 10 companies were contacted to evacuate him from Haiti, but no one could deliver a solution. At XPJ, we don't accept “impossible.” By 6 PM Sunday, XPJ was called in. The next morning at 11 AM, I was on the ground in Haiti, ready to act. By 4 PM that same day, the patient was in the hands of the top surgeon in Broward County, receiving critical care in Fort Lauderdale. Through XPJ’s network of special operations and our operators' connections in Haiti, we secured an air ambulance that wasn’t risk-averse, and we navigated the notoriously complicated landing approvals in just three hours—a process that typically takes much longer. This is what we do at XPJ. We pride ourselves on solving problems where others can’t. Our extensive network of operators has proven their abilities in some of the most inaccessible and challenging regions in the world. Just getting the Job done!
