Integrity in business isn't just about following the law—it's about doing what's right, even when no one's looking. Some platforms are putting their users at risk by allowing deceptive practices that artificially boost their clients. Not only is this unethical, but it also erodes long-term trust. Customers today are sharp. They can tell when something doesn't add up. If your reviews are a sea of perfect 5-stars with no balance, people will know something's off. Genuine transparency is what builds trust and lasting customer relationships. Share all reviews—positive and negative (excluding spam and fraud). Respond, learn, and grow from them. Honest feedback is what drives real, sustainable growth and earns you loyal customers. Read our latest article on how the FTC's action against SiteJabber highlights the importance of integrity in review practices and how you can protect your business.

The 'almighty' Google review! For some businesses, it's essential for survival; for others, not as much—but that’s a discussion for another time. However you split it, having Google Reviews can certainly help boost search ranking & awareness, build trust on a quick glance, and shape customer's immediate decision on whether to pay attention to you as an option or not. The hard part is collecting them... Here are 6 strategies on how to get more Google Business Reviews: 1?? Optimize your Google Business Profile Ensure accurate business details, high-quality photos, and regular updates. Make it ease for customers to find and recognize you amongst the noise of your competitors 2?? Send direct review links after an order or service completion Include a review link in follow-up emails, texts, and DM's. When the best time to ask? There's no one-size-fits-all answer, but we can say to test, test, test with each new customer to figure out what works best. 3?? Leverage “Thank You” emails Already using a review software to collect your own reviews (like with RaveCapture)? Send a "Thank You" email after the customer submitted their review and encourage them to leave the same review on Google. 4?? Use signage with QR codes For physical stores, a QR code linking to your Google review page can serve as an easy reminder for walk-in customers. 5?? Engage with existing reviews Respond to all feedback—positive and negative. Customers appreciate when they see responses to reviews, especially negative reviews, that are thoughtful and reinforcing to the brand. What’s your biggest challenge in collecting Google reviews?

"Set it and forget it" Great for SaaS companies, bad for users... Too many companies set up their review programs and forget about 'em—checking reviews once a month (if that) and rarely updating or utilizing the content. ?? Here’s a simple process you can follow just twice a week to stay on top of it: ?? Log. In. ?? ??Check for new reviews ?? Respond to key reviews (especially negative ones and the excellent ones) ?? Identify new UGC and share it on social media ?? Once a month (at least), analyze and update your review request and survey copy ?? Rinse and repeat! It doesn’t matter if you’re a team of 1 or 100—success starts with logging in and just start. The consistency will pay off when it comes to customer feedback and UGC. The rewards are there, just waiting for you to take action!

Ever sat there wondering what a "good" review response rate looks like? Less than 2%? Let's be honest—that's missing the mark. 3%-5%? Not bad, but why settle? You should be aiming for 7%-10%. If you're over 10%, we need to talk because you've got some secrets to share! So, how can the rest of us boost those numbers? ?? Automate, Automate, Automate: If you're still manually sending review requests, it's time to stop. You're wasting precious time. Tools like ours send requests at the perfect moment—right after your customer is thrilled with their purchase. ?? Create Raving Fans: This one's on you. Make your customers feel like VIPs. Feature their photos, give them shout-outs, make them feel part of your community. When they feel the love, they'll be more than happy to leave you an awesome review. ?? Keep It Simple: Nobody wants to fill out a lengthy survey. Keep your review requests short and to the point. Your customers will appreciate it. ?? Incentivize Thoughtfully: Do what's right for your business, but trust us—incentivizing (when done correctly) will bring in more valuable reviews. Otherwise, you might just get a bunch of half-hearted ones from people only interested in the coupon or prize. More on that later ?? Consider this: Your competitors are probably snoozing on this, relying on some "set and forget" review program ??. While they're settling for average, you could be boosting your social proof and leaving them in the dust. ProTip: Be unique and personal when asking for reviews. If customers don't feel a connection to your business, they're less likely to leave you a review (or at least a good one...) https://lnkd.in/gHU__nn5

Try growing your business without caring first for your current customers... it won't be easy. We don't believe in the idea that the customer is always right. No one is perfect. We do however believe that our customers should always come first which means we lend an ear, receive (and actively ask for) feedback readily and are always there to help when they reach out and before they reach out. Working with e-commerce merchants has taught us these things because the most successful e-commerce companies do the same for their customers.

If most of your positive reviews look like this ?? "Great product, highly recommend." "2nd time buying. Obviously love this product!" "Product was very good for the quality and price." "Wonderful quality for the price. Delivery was fast." They might not be doing as much for your brand as you think. Here’s the thing: Customers need a reason to buy your product. Reviews like these might help reaffirm what you’re already saying in your marketing, but are they really convincing new customers to hit that 'Buy' button? And let’s be honest—your competitors have the same kind of reviews. So what sets you apart? To truly stand out, you need reviews that go deeper. Reviews that share details like… ?? ?? HOW the product was used ?? HOW the customer felt after using it ?? WHAT the product helped them achieve ?? WHAT experience it created for them These kinds of details aren’t just reviews—they’re stories unique to your brand. They paint a vivid picture of what new customers can expect, making your product feel more relatable and trustworthy. And you know what can make these reviews even more powerful? Photos & Videos showing your product in action! Nothing speaks louder than real customers showcasing their real experiences. Next time you encourage your customers to leave a review, guide them to share their story. It’s the stories, not just the stars, that will set you apart from the competition.

?? Ready for BFCM? That's Black Friday & Cyber Monday, but you knew that already. ?? It's not just a weekend—it's a marathon! For most merchants, the sales & feedback cycle can stretch 2-3+ months. So, how can you optimize your review & feedback campaigns during this time? ? HOLD UP—first, study your sales cycle and overall performance from last year. These tips might not apply to every ecommerce shop, but they tend to work for most during this time. Alright, as you were ??—here are two tips for your review & feedback campaigns: ?? Push your requests out further: The focus shifts to the gift RECEIVER, not the gift BUYER, so consider sending review requests 30-60 days later. ?? "Give me a break, dude": The holidays are crazy—like a nutcracker on speed! Give folks some time to get back online and provide that review. Basically, just wait until January. ?? IMO - your goal should be to turn these customers into raving fans of your brand in 2025 so tread lightly and intentionally. #BFCM #Ecommerce #CustomerFeedback #HolidayMarketing #ReviewStrategy

"Another post about negative reviews?" Yes, another one! And here's why: Negative reviews can be goldmines of opportunity—if you face them head-on. Quick aside: We're not talking about spammy, context-less complaints about shipping. Those are trash, and you know it. ?? But let’s say you get a detailed negative review, complete with photos and a long explanation. Sure, it stings, but this is where you show who you are and what your brand stands for. Two things you should never do: ? Ignore it: Ignoring a negative review is like ignoring the check engine light in your car. Sure, you might get away with it for a while, but it won’t end well. ? Hide it: Publishing negative reviews is the right thing to do. Transparency builds trust. More on this below ?? Here’s why negative reviews can be game changers: ? People trust people: Your company is run by humans, right? Showcasing well-rounded reviews, including the bad ones, builds more trust than a sea of perfect 5-star ratings. ? Add humanity to your brand: When customers see a thoughtful response to a detailed negative review, it adds a layer of authenticity and care to your brand. ? Exceed expectations: A brand that faces negative reviews head-on shows a commitment to customer service, setting a higher standard for what customers can expect. ? Win back customers for life: Addressing a negative review thoughtfully can turn an upset customer into a lifelong fan—and they might even spread the word about how you turned things around. ? Improve your products: Negative feedback is a goldmine for product development. When you act on it, you’re not just improving your offerings—you’re showing customers you listen and care. Shift your mindset today. Most of your competitors will keep fearing negative reviews, but those who embrace them will turn them into powerful assets for growth.
