Project Highlight: A Gem Under Glass ?? The United States Botanic Garden, one of the oldest in North America, is a conservatory nestled at the foot of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. Since 1932, it has showcased a diverse collection of tropical, temperate, and desert plants. In 1997, a full renovation began, revitalizing over 36,000 square feet of greenhouse space. Steeped in history, the USBG continues to educate visitors on the vital role plants play in human well-being and ecosystem health. .Principal Allan Summers visited Punta Pita in Chile, where landscape architect Teresa Mohler created a route to navigate the seashore integrated with the landscape,sensitively and creatively siting the paths,steps, and terraces. It is the poetic epitome of form and function. The extraordinary craftsmanship compliments the natural stone features. A moving and inspiring experience.

RAS collaborated with Purdy O’Gwynn Architects to create The Philadelphia School's Early Education Center, featuring classrooms, a landscaped play court, and green spaces that offer a “country classroom in the city.” Working with TPS faculty, we designed an outdoor environment that inspires both learning and play. Project Showcase: A Modern Approach to a Mainline Home RAS partnered with our client and Abby Schwartz Architects to transform this Mainline home with stunning outdoor spaces that beautifully merge modern design with traditional materials. The new pool is seamlessly integrated into the hillside, providing expansive views from the pool house terrace and acting as a sculptural water feature from the residence. A horticulturally rich planting palette enhances the landscape, while a refined garden at the entrance offers a warm welcome, reflecting the home’s unique blend of contemporary and classic design. Excited to showcase our project at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point's Chemistry & Biology Building! RAS led the design for the Tropical Conservatory, home to 400+ plant species from around the globe. Our collaboration with the biology department resulted in a stunning exhibit space that meets educational goals and features design elements like a three-tiered water feature and green wall that also provide educational components for students in the program.
