Case Study Monday! The client was looking to load dried distillers grain into 40-foot shipping containers for export. For increased efficiency, the customer decided to purchase two Rapat Series-ETR shuttling belt conveyors, enabling them to load at least one container at all times. Rapat supplied the conveyors, support structures, and shuttle drives. Rapat also provided the ultrasonic sensors that enable product pile detection and allow for automated self-retraction of the conveyor as the container fills. The application required modification of the support structures to accommodate the existing loading dock and the addition of a second directional inlet with skirting to accept the necessary chute work. Case Study Monday! Rapat was contracted to design and build a material handling system for a new facility that converted yellow pine wood chips into renewable crude oil. The project included conveyors, supports and connection chutes to transfer the wood chips. Due to environmental and corrosion concerns, Rapat hot-dip galvanized all equipment, and the conveyors were fully enclosed to reduce dust emissions. Location: Mississippi Capacities: 300 TPH

Case Study Monday! A large cement company needed a new transloading facility to receive cement from river barges and transport it to fill a storage dome. Rapat provided material handling equipment and support structures from the barge unloader to the storage dome. Due to the sensitive nature of cement, Rapat supplied completely enclosed conveyors to keep the dust contained and the outside elements out. There was also the challenge of overcoming difficult factors such as building a bend section to compensate for the elevation difference between the river and the bucket elevator inlet. The long conveyor also required a gravity take-up and an enclosure to contain dust with clean out doors. Location: Tennesse Capacities: 300 TPH
