RAO Community Health was formed to provide support for medical, social, education, mental health, and HIV/ STI prevention needs of diverse and underserved populations within the Charlotte-Metro, and surrounding counties. With the continual need for housing and basic necessities for individuals, it is our goal to create a one-stop shop for holistic care. Our mission is to educate, advocate, and support diverse and underserved populations including the LGBTQ+ community, through compassionate and quality care.

    On Thursday, RAO Community Health in partnership with Novant Health hosted a "Eat, Sleep, Console," workshop for the doulas in our Doula Impact Program, where they learned methods to effectively care for infants that are born with opioid withdrawal. We had a fantastic time learning, bonding, and sharing our unique experiences and passion for maternal health! Lugenia Grider, our amazing preceptor at Novant Health, did a phenomenal job facilitating the event! You rock!

    On Sunday, RAO Community Health and Northeastern University collaborated to offer a comprehensive hands-on simulation experience tailored for doula students enrolled in RAO’s Doula Impact Program. This session facilitated an enriched understanding of labor practices, techniques for managing hemorrhaging in birthing individuals, and an expansion of HIV/STI prevention skills. Thank you Leah Prasse, Lugenia Grider, Kyara Washington, MPH for their invaluable contributions and wealth of expertise in the MCH and HIV fields. #mch #hivprevention #doula
