?? Hard work or luck? ?? On How I Built This, Guy Raz often asks his guests if they attribute their success to hard work or luck. Most say hard work—and we agree! But we also know that some “lucky breaks” have made a huge difference in our journey to support children and families. Here are a few we’re especially grateful for: ?? Lucky Break #1: Strong leadership from day one! From our first executive director, Pauline McKee, to Lisa Hayworth, and incredible board chairs like Mi Mi Cooper and Beverly Mooney, we’ve always had champions leading the way. ?? Lucky Break #2: Being part of the SHAPE Initiative for all twelve years, transforming outdoor learning spaces across Randolph County into fun, engaging environments for kids to thrive. ?? Lucky Break #3: Our incredible community! Generous donors, volunteers, and businesses have made everything we do possible—from donating books to supporting programs that empower families. The truth is, the harder we all work together, the “luckier” we get. ??? We feel so lucky to have YOU in our community! ?? ?? What’s a lucky break you’ve had recently? Share it in the comments—we’d love to hear your story! #Gratitude #ThankYou #CommunitySupport

  • Have you ever played the game Two Truths and a Lie? It’s a game where a person tells you three things - two are true and one is a lie. The other person has to spot the lie. Personally, I think it’s a great icebreaker. Let’s play. Can you spot the lie? #1: Of the 5,994 children under 6 in Randolph County who are in families where their sole parent or both parents are working, only 2,008 are in licensed care. #2: The average wage for an early childhood educator in Randolph County is between $11.00 and $12.45. #3: The monthly cost of high-quality child care for children under 6 ranges from $589 to $867 a month. But here’s the thing: there is no lie. And that’s why we need your support to bring projects like our Early Educator Academy, which will help expedite the process of getting new teachers into classrooms. At Randolph Partnership for Children, we know that having access to high-quality child care with knowledgeable professionals can make all the difference for families who need to work but what to know their child is well taken care of. Help support the Randolph Partnership and our goal to ensure strong families with healthy, well-prepared children by galvanizing our community to advocate for and invest in their future.
