As we approach June 1, 2025, we want to remind our?partners that we have less than 90 days until the official start of the 2025 Hurricane Season. The 2024 season was one of the busiest in recent years, with five major storms—Beryl, Debbie, Francine, Helene, and Milton—making landfall in the continental United States. We were fortunate to serve our customers through all five of these significant events. With so much chatter in the industry about supplying support at the Southern Border, we take a look back at OAW 2021- Ft. Bliss, TX USA (Dona Ana Range Complex). Ranco Response was awarded a task order on 15 August 2021 to establish a soft-walled facility for 1,000 migrants at Dona Ana Range, New Mexico, within 72 hours. Due to increased demand, the project expanded to accommodate 10,000 migrants in just seven days. The facility included: - 335,544 square feet of soft wall structures for sleeping and administration. - Essential amenities such as elevated plastic flooring, lighting, smoke detectors, HVAC, and emergency exits. - Four dining facilities capable of serving 45,000 meals daily, with kitchens and dining areas. - 338 shower stalls and flushing latrines, both ADA compliant and serviced six times a day. - 650 portable toilets and 305 handwash stations, also serviced frequently. - 80 diesel-powered light towers and four certified fuel trucks for generator and facility fueling. - 49,000 gallons of fuel storage and 30 refrigerated trailers for food storage. - Four "Grab and Go" food stations operating 24/7. - 30 shuttle buses for transporting migrants. Additionally, Ranco Response provided comprehensive camp management, including various support personnel to ensure smooth operations and maintenance. As hurricane season comes to a close, we reflect on one of our busiest years in recent memory. We were honored to support the response missions for five storms that made landfall in the U.S. We began with Hurricane Beryl, a Category 5 hurricane that hit the Caribbean and Gulf Coast in late June 2024, weakening to a Category 2 before making landfall in Texas on July 8. The storm resulted in 73 fatalities and over $8.06 billion in damages. Ranco Response set up a feeding site in Rosenburg, TX, serving over 3,500 meals daily to 5 million residents without power. Next was Hurricane Debby, which made landfall in Florida on August 5, causing severe flooding with 20 inches of rainfall in Sarasota. Ranco provided catering, sanitation facilities, and housing for 1,000 first responders across various camps in Florida. Following this, Hurricane Francine made landfall in Louisiana on September 11, causing significant flooding. Ranco established a 1,000-person base camp in Amite City and supported a dining facility in Houma for first responders. Hurricane Helene struck the Southeastern U.S. on September 26, leading to extensive damage and at least 234 fatalities. Ranco assisted across five states, providing camps with showers and laundry for responders. We wrapped up the season with Hurricane Milton, a Category 5 storm that made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, on October 9. Ranco facilitated sanitation responses at Tropicana Field and supported a Volunteer Village mission in Englewood, operational for 47 days.
