Last week, Ramsey Historic Consultants, Inc.’ own Emily Ramsey participated in a panel discussion hosted by the @JPMorganChase Community Development Banking Historic Tax Credit team and held at The LaSalle Chicago, Autograph Collection in downtown Chicago. The evening panel’s theme -- “Heritage in Transition: An Approach to Building Conversions” – continued the ongoing conversation on the challenges and opportunities in office-to-housing adaptive reuse projects. The panelists also talked about their experiences using historic rehab incentives like federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credits, and about the City of Chicago’s own LaSalle Street Reimagined program and its goals to help make the downtown Loop’s busy financial district even more vibrant and sustainable. This lively panel also included Michael Edwards of the Chicago Loop Alliance, Michael Reschke of The Prime Group, Inc., and Emily Thrun from the Chicago Department of Planning and Development. Special thanks to the panel’s hosts Kevin Goldsmith and Tim Karp from JPMorganChase. #ramseyhistoric #historictaxcredits #historicpreservation #adaptivereuse #affordablehousing #placesthatmatter #chicago
