关于我们

Since 1974, RAMS has been providing and advocating for mental health and wellness services that are centered in clients, community and culture. Historically serving Asian and Pacific Islander Americans populations, today RAMS supports those who have the least resources and opportunities to achieve their highest potential by providing integrated services that include counseling, job training, capacity building for partner organizations and advanced training of mental health professionals. Annually, the agency serves and outreaches to well over 19,000 adults, children, youth, and families, and provides services in over 30 languages, offering over 30 clinical programs in over 90 sites citywide, to meet the diverse community needs. RAMS service areas include: individual, family & group counseling with children, youth, adults, and older adults (of all ages, starting at birth); residential services, vocational training & employment services; psychology training and clinical practicum (training the next generation of culturally competent mental health professionals), youth and adult workforce development & career pathways and education (summer day camp fostering interest and mentorship in the health & human services field; jointly operating a Certificate program with SF State University); and community organizing and advocacy activities. Natalie Ah Soon, Director of Community Engagement and Government Relations at RAMS, was one of a handful of Pacific Islander leaders invited to the inaugural?White House Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Convening in Washington D.C. The?White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders and the?White House Office of Public Engagement hosted?100 community leaders, state and local elected officials, and federal appointees gathered to celebrate the cultures and achievements of NHPI communities and hear what the Biden-Harris Administration has been doing and continue to do to meet their needs. RAMS is proud of our programs that specifically serve Pacific Islanders like the Samoan Wellness Initiative in San Francisco at the Samoan Community Development Center and the Pacific Islander Wellness Initiative in Alameda County.

Last week, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders—in partnership with the White House Office of Public Engagement—made history by hosting the first-ever White House Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (NHPI) Convening. Around 100 community leaders, state and local elected officials, and federal appointees joined together to celebrate the cultures and achievements of NHPI communities and hear what the Administration is has been doing to meet their needs. Attendees heard from top leaders in the Biden-Harris administration, including Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland, U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Katherine Tai, Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell, National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi, Office of Management and Budget Deputy Director Nani Coloretti, and Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Senior Liaison Erika Moritsugu. We even had a special guest appearance from Maia Kealoha who will star as Lilo Pelekai in the upcoming live-action remake of ‘Lilo and Stitch.’ Grateful to all who helped make this inaugural event a success. This one’s for the books! Photography by Albert Ting
