S.R., a victim of domestic violence for over two decades, was arrested for attacking her long-time abuser. Shortly thereafter, the abuser filed numerous frivolous lawsuits and, because of legal loopholes, was able to obtain full custody of their three minor children (one of which is still breastfeeding). This occurred ex-parte, meaning S.R. was not heard?and the merits of the lawsuits were not examined. ? After multiple hours of cross-examination, our namesake Jeevan Rampersad exposed and undermined critical claims made by the abuser in his lawsuits using digital evidence found across several social media accounts to show that he 1) was aware S.R. was filing for divorce 2) knew S.R. would likely gain sole custody of their three minors and 3) restricted access to the minors as a form of control and psychological/emotional torture. ? Shortly thereafter, the Court dismissed the lawsuits as meritless. S.R. was able to hold her children for the first time in over one hundred days. ? Client H.M. was arrested and charged with Battery on Law Enforcement (Felony) after an officer claimed he punched and slapped her multiple times during an active investigation. Stitching together body-worn camera (BWC) from six different angles, our team was able to definitively prove the officer lied under oath. Contrary to her testimony that H.M. immediately attacked her upon approach, the evidence showed that within two seconds of making contact, our client was lying face-down with his face pinned against the pavement, making the officer's recount a physical impossibility. After a thorough impeachment of the State's primary witnesses, the State announced a "Nolle Prosequi" dismissing all charges against our client.
