Had the honor of attending the Gift of Life breakfast this morning hosted by the Ralph Lauren Center at Georgetown Lombardi . We heard an inspiring speech from Melanie Nix, an incredible community advocate for breast cancer prevention, screening, and treatment. Events like this remind me of why I do health equity research, and why being in a postdoc that would expose me to training in Community Outreach and Engagement was so important to me. Because there are countless people already out in the community doing incredible work on the ground. And being able to meet them and learn from them has been an incredible experience!
