In some ways the analytics of an e-commerce store can be overwhelming. No names, thousands of pages views and user engagements, hundreds of add to carts - some orders and those gut wrenching abandon carts. Why? Why did you go all the way through the process and not complete the order? Yesterday I was reviewing our Rallie Pickleball abandon carts and I found an abandon cart only two hours from my hometown in Minnesota. Yeah, I'm gonna dig into this one a bit more. Sure enough we have over 15 mutual connections on LinkedIn. I decided to email him. Trent, I normally don't contact people personally that put a Rallie in their shopping cart,??I'm originally from Two Harbors. When I saw you were from Hibbing I had to reach out to introduce myself. My name is Eric Fransen and I'm the owner of Rallie. I actually took a peek at your LinkedIn and we are pretty connected :-) I went to UMD the same time as Don Ness and know Janelle J. pretty well. Anyways... if I can answer any questions and get you the first Rallie in the Great State of Minnesota let me know how I can help. Happy to jump on a call as well. That email sparked 17 wonderful messages back and forth. Some emails were about him, some were about the launch of Rallie and others went a bit deeper on maybe becoming an ambassador for Rallie. We even found out that we were going to be in Arizona the same time later this month and I think we'll play some pickleball next month in Minnesota. This morning I got that beautiful sound from the Shopify app when a sale happens. I think this could be the start of Rallie Pickleball becoming a big time presence in the Great State of Minnesota led by Mr. Trent Janezich - Let's Go! The point is e-commerce isn't set it and forget it. Every single day you need to manage your store. You need to watch your numbers, but you also have to create every conversation you can. You need to nurture your leads. You need to find out why the customer didn't finish the order so you can update copy or improve your offer. I'm so excited that Trent is now a part of Rallie. It took just one email to introduce myself. Not to sell, but to tell him how excited I was that he got to the checkout. I never even asked him why he didn't buy initially - I'll find out eventually, but the first step was starting to develop a relationship. I think most e-commerce stores forget about this. While I was writing this a 2nd abandon cart that I reached out to yesterday emailed me back. He wants to use 2 cards for the payment (I can help with that).
