It is with immense pleasure and admiration that we announce Leshia Myers as our Employee of the Month for September! Leshia’s journey with the Raising Cane’s River Center is a testament to her dedication, passion, and the incredible impact she has made on our team. Leshia joined us in 2005, bringing with her a wealth of experience from Governmental Affairs. She initially took on the role of Contract Administrator, and her expertise and commitment quickly set her apart. In 2022, Leshia transitioned to the Finance Department, where she has since excelled as our Payroll Administrator. Her remarkable leadership during the ABI payroll conversion showcases her ability to manage complex projects with precision and grace. Leshia’s role in the Raising Cane’s naming rights project further highlights her significant contributions to our success. What truly sets Leshia apart is her unwavering dedication to both her professional and personal life. Outside of work, she is a devoted family person, cherishing time with her husband of 43 years, Frankie, their three grown children, and their growing number of grandchildren. Leshia’s commitment to giving back is equally inspiring; she volunteers at the Capital Area Recovery Program and two local senior/rehab facilities, showing her genuine care for the community. Her family affectionately calls her “Grammy,” a name that embodies her nurturing spirit and warmth. Leshia’s enthusiasm, hard work, and heart have not gone unnoticed. Her colleagues deeply appreciate her supportive nature and the positive energy she brings to the team. Leshia, thank you for all you do and for being such a vital part of our River Center family. It's official - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome announced the 2024 Neighborhood Convention today that will take place September 14 at the Raising Cane's River Center - ASM Global! The convention will bring together hundreds of neighborhood leaders and residents, business owners, city-parish department heads, public safety leaders, and youth from across the parish for a day of sharing tools and best practices needed to build strong, connected neighborhoods. ?? Goals for the 2024 Neighborhood Convention include: - Equipping attendees with essential tools and info to enhance their neighborhoods - Explore innovative approaches to strengthen neighborhood identity and foster a sense of belonging among residents - Provide methods to document and celebrate the rich heritage and narratives of local communities And more! This month, we are thrilled to recognize Dawn Fields as our Employee of the Month! Dawn, a proud Jersey Girl, is learning to adapt to her new Southern surroundings here in Louisiana. She is the devoted mother of two wonderful children, Erica and Eli, who are remarkably close in age—just one year, one month, and one day apart. Additionally, Dawn has embraced two bonus children and three bonus grandchildren, expanding her loving family. Dawn’s journey to Louisiana began when her son earned a football scholarship to Southern University. Her dedication to supporting her son’s dreams led her to move here to provide him with moral support and encouragement. In her free time, Dawn loves to read and watch crime stories. She also has a creative side that many might not know about—Dawn has written several e-books, with her latest work titled *How to Develop Your Spirit Man*. Congratulations, Dawn, on being named Employee of the Month! Your dedication to your family and your creative spirit inspire us all.
