New Species, Old Problem—Will These Frogs Survive Us? ???? Deep in Peru’s Cordillera de Colán, scientists are uncovering new species almost daily. This cloud forest is home to an astonishing array of wildlife, from tiny insects to the most rare amphibians. But this biodiversity hotspot is under threat. Logging, agricultural expansion, new massive roads, cattle ranching, and extractive industries rapidly destroy habitats. It is estimated that over 130 species are lost to?deforestation every day—some before we even have a chance to study them. That’s why research and conservation efforts matter now more than ever. Scientists like Pablo Venegas and his team are working tirelessly to understand and protect these fragile ecosystems. Their research helps us create targeted conservation strategies—but they can’t do it alone. You can be part of the solution. Join us in safeguarding these irreplaceable rainforests. Support our work and help ensure these species thrive for generations to come. ?? How will you take action today? Preserving tropical rainforests, empowering communities, and safeguarding our planet’s future.
关于我们
We Build Partnerships to Empower Communities, Preserve Rainforests, and Secure Our Planet’s Future ??Tropical rainforests cover less than 3% of Earth’s surface, yet they are the lungs of our planet, absorbing carbon, regulating the climate, and sustaining over half of the world’s biodiversity. These forests are home to indigenous peoples and local communities who have safeguarded them for generations. However, every day, thousands of acres are lost to deforestation, unsustainable development, and climate change—pushing us toward an irreversible tipping point. At Rainforest Partnership, we believe that protecting and restoring rainforests requires collaboration, action, and commitment from individuals, businesses, and communities worldwide. As an international nonprofit, we work directly with indigenous and local communities, strengthening their leadership and co-creating sustainable solutions that benefit both people and nature. Our projects drive economic resilience, environmental protection, and global awareness—ensuring that rainforests remain a thriving part of our planet’s future. You can be part of the solution. Whether you are an advocate, a business leader, a conservationist, or someone who simply cares about our planet, there is a place for you in this mission. Together, we can protect the forests that protect us. ?? Join us in safeguarding the world’s rainforests—because our forests are our future. Learn more: rainforestpartnership.org

Rainforest Partnership announces the Tropical Rainforest Industry Impact (TRII) Index . No climate solutions available are capable of doing what rainforests do for our planet, our water, and our air to sustain life on Earth. Our TRII Index is designed to build a landscape where companies and rainforests thrive together and to support corporations in their transition to a forest-positive future. We are a proud partner of the futur/io Institute CSO Awards North America, who used the TRII Index as a tool to evaluate the environmental efforts of the 20 nominees from the CSO Awards North America 2024. https://lnkd.in/ecyKQcQf
