This generation in Tayakome will be the first to grow up with access to clean water at home and school—a transformative step for their health and future. ???? Heartfelt thanks to everyone supporting the life-changing mission of bringing clean water and sanitation to remote villages in the Peruvian Amazon. We inspire indigenous people to become stewards of their health, their environment, and their future.
关于我们
Rainforest Flow is committed to helping indigenous communities remain vibrant and independent by working with them to build and maintain their own sustainable clean water and sanitation systems. Combined with health education, technical/vocational training, and monitoring, we can guarantee participation, and thus the sustainability of these water, sanitation and health (WASH) projects. This greatly contributes to the health of these communities, enabling them to flourish, and protect themselves from outside economic interests and cultural erosion. Since 2003, Rainforest Flow Founder and Executive Director, Nancy Santullo, has raised over 3.5 million dollars to successfully implement four WASH projects, serving 1200 villagers in the Manu Biosphere Reserve and National Park in southeastern Peru. Manu Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is considered one of the world’s most important protected tropical areas. Rainforest Flow video: Rainforest Flow implements efficient, low-maintenance water and sanitation systems while facilitating the development of hygiene and maintenance practices to produce sustainable long-term change. Each family participates in the building of the water and sanitation infrastructure, and their home sink. We work at the local, regional, and national levels to ensure project sustainability while building partnerships with community organizations, local municipalities, health, and social service agencies, and ministries to ensure lasting benefits. Rainforest Flow is a 501(c)(3) public charity registered in the United States.

Clean Water supports culture! The Shawi women of Louis Terry rely on clean water to prepare Masato and Chicha, their traditional beverages. Masato is made from fermenting yucca and Chicha from fermenting corn. #givecleanwater #generationalchange #ManuBiosphereReserve #amazonrainforest #indigenouspeople #peru #slowsandfiltration #safewater #cleanplanet #donate #sustainableliving #biodiversity #climatechange #rainforestflow #waterjustice #indigenouswomen #handwashing #changemakers

?? Excited to be part of the annual UNC Water and Health Conference, where global WaSH leaders unite to expand access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. Rainforest Flow curated a panel featuring changemakers from Peru, Brazil, and the United States sharing insights on health, policy, and sustainable infrastructure for underrepresented communities in the Amazon. Together we are fostering partnerships, sparking global discussions, and advocating for investments in WaSH innovations to support Indigenous and rural communities. Together, we can drive real, lasting change. ?? #WaSH #WaterAndHealth #Sustainability #IndigenousVoices #GlobalHealth #uncwaterandhealth #rainforestflow Pictured from Left to Right: Chad Jafvert, Ph.D., Dept. Meet Jovita Palomino Solisonquehua, a mother of three from Huacaria, where our journey began in 2003. Back then, Jovita was just 7, and her village struggled with health issues due to contaminated water. Thanks to our slow sand filtration system, eco-friendly bathrooms, and hygiene education, Huacaria has transformed into a learning annex for sustainable WASH practices. "As a girl, we drank dirty water and were often sick. Now, with clean water and a new bathroom, our health has improved. I teach my children to care for the water—it's up to us to maintain it." #givecleanwater #generationalchange #ManuBiosphereReserve #amazonrainforest #indigenouspeople #peru #slowsandfiltration #safewater #cleanplanet #donate #sustainableliving #biodiversity #climatechange #rainforestflow #waterjustice #indigenouswomen #handwashing #changemakers

Emilio Caparo (left), a Matsigenka water technician from the Huacaria village, teaches members of the Yomybato water committee how to properly clean their slow sand filters. The Yomybato committee, primarily composed of men, is eager to learn from those at the remote headwaters of the Manu River. This technical training is crucial, as it ensures the delivery of clean water to 400 community members. #givecleanwater #generationalchange #ManuBiosphereReserve #amazonrainforest #indigenouspeople #peru #slowsandfiltration #safewater #cleanplanet #donate #sustainableliving #biodiversity #climatechange #rainforestflow #waterjustice #indigenouswomen #handwashing #changemakers
