关于我们
Rainbow Services’ (Rainbow) seeks to end the cycle of abuse and violence in families. We provide a comprehensive range of services and/or shelter to support survivors of domestic violence (DV) and their children as they transition from crisis to stability and safety. Rainbow serves the Harbor and South Bay areas of Los Angeles County. Survivors of DV in Los Angeles County face several barriers to safety, including poverty, limited availability of resources, and an inadequate supply of affordable housing. Through shelter and community-based case management, counseling, support groups, legal services, and services for children, Rainbow helps more than 400 families every year to find safe housing, build healthy relationships, and end the cycle of abuse. Rainbow also offers education for organizations, business, and the community at large to increase awareness of domestic violence and prevent abuse and violence in families. Rainbow Services' programs are available at no cost to survivors of DV. We are a social benefit organization, and are tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code. We provide safety net services and address basic human needs though government contracts, and rely on the generosity of foundations and individual donors who believe every home and every relationship can be healthy and safe.

???A Rainbow of Thanks! ?? On Domestic Violence Awareness Month's?Day of Giving, Rainbow hosted a special event at our Community Resource Center to express our gratitude to the supporters who make our work possible. Guests explored our Community Resource Center, enjoyed delicious food and drinks, participated in an art activity?designed?to aid emotional healing, and connected with like-minded supporters. They also had the chance to hear powerful testimonials and chat with Rainbow staff about the programs and services we provide to survivors. The highlight of the evening was a moving testimonial from a past Rainbow participant and her daughter, who shared their healing journey and how Rainbow helped them find hope along the way. We are so grateful to everyone who made the evening a celebration of connection and inspiration! A special thank you to local San Pedro favorites?Rafaello Ristorante?and?Big Nick's Pizza?for their delicious donations, which brought guests together and made the evening even more special. For more than 40 years, Rainbow Services has been committed to breaking the cycle of domestic violence, and it is our community's ongoing support that allows us to continue making a positive impact in the lives of survivors. Domestic violence is a leading cause of homelessness among women, forcing many to leave their homes to escape abuse. As members of the Greater LA Coalition on Homelessness, Rainbow works to combat this issue by providing safe housing to those fleeing violence. ? ???2024 Homeless Count Highlights by Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority: - LA County: Homelessness down by 0.27% to 75,312 people. - City of LA: Homelessness down by 2.2% to 45,252 people. - Unsheltered Homelessness: Down by 5% in the County, 10% in the City. - Permanent Housing: Up 18% with nearly 28,000 placements last year ? Rainbow was among the first agencies in California to pilot the Domestic Violence Housing First model, an evidence-based approach that supports survivors who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability as they work to maintain safe housing which minimizes their chances of falling back into homelessness; thus, lessening the impact on the DV service system. ? Let’s build on this progress and continue to work together to bring more people home and prevent homelessness for DV survivors. ? #EndHomelessness #SupportSurvivors #DomesticViolenceAwareness #LAHSA #TogetherWeCan #SafeHousing #HomelessCount2024

This morning, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld a federal law prohibiting people subject to Domestic Violence Restraining Orders (DVROs) from accessing guns. Guns dramatically escalate violence when someone is harming their partner, and DVROs are critical safeguards that mandate their removal. Today's decision is a crucial protection for survivor safety, and we applaud our fellow community partners and advocates who made their voices heard on this issue. ? As leaders in the domestic violence field, Rainbow is happy to offer insight as to why this Supreme Court ruling is so important, and our Director of Operations, Marci Fukuroda, will be available for interviews for those wishing to learn more. She can be reached at [email protected] ? For more information on this ruling, please see the statement from the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence in the comments below. ? Everyone deserves respect, love & safety.
