Community Engagement Director Michelle Alcorn is the ideal person to kick off our new #WhatsYourWhy Wednesday series... As a connector between the community and Rainbow Village, it's Michelle's role to ensure the community understands what Rainbow Village does, who we do it for, and how our neighbors can get involved with our mission. For her, the ultimate goal is to enhance community engagement and guarantee that Rainbow Village has the resources necessary to support the families we serve continually. When asked "WHY" she does this work, Michelle shared... With a beautiful smile to match her beautiful soul, our new Executive & Office Assistant is ideal to serve as the “face” of Rainbow Village as guests walk through our front door. After a career in the insurance industry, Cathy is exceptionally organized and highly skilled at fostering connections. Her passion for serving the community extends beyond Rainbow Village, including her faithful service to 12Stone Church. #TheVillageisGrowing

While we all know the Duluth Fall Festival is FUN and has been recognized as the Best Festival in the Southeast, did you know that all proceeds from the Festival are used to improve and beautify Historic Downtown Duluth PLUS support select local nonprofit organizations? Last week, we attended a planning event for the 2025 Duluth Fall Festival and were blessed during the "Duluth Gives Back" portion of the evening to be one of four organizations to receive a grant from festival proceeds. The other organizations that benefited included Spectrum Autism, Duluth Hands of Christ, and Duluth High School. The funds that Duluth's Kay Montgomery presented to Rainbow Village that night will help fund our Women's Giving Circle Microgrant Program to help our residents overcome obstacles and mark milestones.
