Last week, I was pleased to attend the Global Fintech Week held at the Mastercard HQ in London, along with a network of their closest partners.??? Opened with a keynote from Scott Abrahams, EVP Global Partnerships, he recognised partnerships as the force that will shape the future of fintech. ?? Roza-Marina Mellou, MBA & team discussed revolutionising payments through innovation, envisioning a PAN-less society by 2030, meaning no need for 16 digit codes anymore; and being replaced with card tokenisation. It will promote less identity left, ensure unique identifiers for every transaction, and limits fraud with biometric authentication methods being used to store cards details. Katie Ball highlighted growth was booming, with the fintech industry set to be worth $0.5Bn by 2030. This is being fulled by AI, #embeddedfinance & consumer expectations. It was great to hear that she advocates for collaboration to build strategic partnerships, as opposed to transactional vendor relationships; in order to drive speed to market, GTM excellence and a competitive advantage. Exploring the Future of B2B Payments with Visa??? Last week, members of the Railsr team had the opportunity to attend the Visa Commercial event in London, where many industry leaders joined forces to discuss the evolving payments landscape. With insightful sessions detailing the future of the payments industry, and the role of embedded finance in B2B payments, we explored how innovation is continuing to make space for new opportunities, especially for non-financial institutions. Some key takeaways… There is a growing market for virtual business payment solutions & virtual cards and this market is unlocking new vertical opportunities. Railsr is proud to be at the forefront of innovative virtual payments. While the market is still catching up post-pandemic, business investment confidence is growing, and previously untapped potential in embedded finance could drive the next wave of digital transformation. Opened by Mandy Lamb, MD UK&I, I attended an informative afternoon at the Visa Commercial event at their HQ yesterday. The market outlook was not all sunny, showing we are all still playing catch up post pandemic, with our current trajectory at 2010-2019 figures. There are still some upticks, such as confidence seen through business investments adding to growth, though this has not trickled down to consumers or export growth yet. With Visa Enablers such as Flex and opportunities created by #EmbeddedFinance in B2B payments and less mature verticals, there are lots of pockets of significant untapped growth potential. I find the intersection between embedded finance and #nonfinancialservices to be the most exciting, giving emoney institutes the opportunity to drive disruptive growth, innovation and support organisations from all walks of life with their digital transformation journeys.
