I really enjoyed the opportunity they provided me to grow each and every day!” Clara: “I got to join the data analytics team at Scoular this summer, working with the team over in Omaha. • This summer #Cohort2021 seniors Vaughn Thompson, Grace Boguslawski, Carina Swanson, and #Cohort2022 juniors Peyton Peck, Emmett Myers, and Charles Moloney interned at Garmin. Read below to learn more about their experiences! Charles Moloney: “This summer I worked in Garmin's Device Interaction department developing software for the Garmin Connect app - a mobile app that works as a companion for Garmin smartwatches and devices. It was primarily backend work, and I really enjoyed how challenging the work was and how much I learned about enterprise-level code and all the tools they use. My favorite part of the job was the Summer Learning Workshops we had each week, where we covered skills ranging from Java Spring Boot, to OAuth, to Kubernetes. It was a great crash course into a lot of subjects, and it definitely made me into a better developer. Next year I plan to return to work for a different team within Device Interaction doing DevOps!” Grace Boguslawski: “I absolutely had a blast at Garmin! Over the summer, I was mainly working on backend development, specifically working on different APIs for the Connect app. It was something new and interesting to me and I really enjoyed my project. Although the work was fun, I think the best part of my internship was the people I met. I made some really good friends there that made my experience exponentially better!” Emmett Myers: “This summer I was a Software Engineer Intern in Garmin Labs (R&D) working on the Garmin Clipboard mobile app. Clipboard is an all-in-one team sports app designed to help coaches and athletes build workouts, review stats and more. I implemented two new features into the app that incorporated Android drawing and note taking. It was an amazing summer; I met a ton of awesome people and learned so much from the talented engineers I worked with.” #UNL #RaikesSchool

  • This summer #Cohort2021 seniors Ealynn Hsu and Reed McHenry interned at Amazon. Read below to learn more about their experiences! Ealynn: “This summer, I joined Amazon AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) as a Software Development Engineer (SDE) intern! During the internship, I developed an AI internal tool to help SDEs debug operational issues more quickly. I learned a lot from my team, and got to meet so many amazing people outside my org as well. I'm very thankful for all the opportunities I've had to learn and connect with people throughout the company! Being able to have an invaluable internship experience in a history-rich city like Boston resulted in one of the most fulfilling summers I've had!” Reed: “This summer, I worked for amazons operations team as an area manager intern. In this role I was given the opportunity to grow as a manager as I helped lead a team of around 30 people. I also was put in charge of a project with a goal of increasing efficiency of our daily operations. I loved the chance to meet and connect with so many people and have the opportunity to explore the Northeast! I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity I had and am very happy with my professional development of the course of my internship!” #UNL #RaikesSchool

  • This summer, #Cohort2022 juniors Ava Hollingsworth, Aaron Morrissey, Allan Muinov, and Harley Paprocki studied abroad at Jesus College in Oxford, England, as part of the Nebraska at Oxford Business Abroad Program. Read below to learn more about their experiences! Allan: "Coming to college, studying abroad was something I knew I wanted to pursue, but wasn't sure when I'd have the time or opportunity. When I heard about the Nebraska at Oxford summer program, it seemed like a perfect fit and enabled me to knock out 6 UNL credits for my major within four weeks! Exploring Europe with some great friends while taking relevant classes was easily one of the highlights of my college career, and I'd recommend studying abroad at least once to every student!” Harley: “My time at Oxford University was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Visiting the sites where Harry Potter was filmed and seeing Big Ben were a few of my favorite moments. My advice for traveling abroad; push yourself to meet new people - they could become a lifelong friend!” Ready to start your adventure? Visit https://lnkd.in/eSuzic4Y #UNL #RaikesSchool #StudyAbroad
