Our #COP29 Insights ?? ? The United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP29 Azerbaijan, is bringing together governments, financial institutions, businesses and NGOs to discuss critical issues related to climate change. ?? We have been actively participating in this important event, with two of our colleagues taking part in high-level panel discussions. Vera Economou, our Sustainable Finance Topic Lead, and Julian Gikov,?Executive Director?Infrastructure M&A, represented the bank at panel discussions during the COP29 Finance, Investment and Trade Day.??? ? ?? Vera Economou participated in a panel discussion moderated by Emilia Mychasuk, Climate Editor of the Financial Times, focused on the rapid evolution of sustainable finance taxonomies in various jurisdictions and the importance of unified standards to prevent market fragmentation. Abdullah Al-Dardari, Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Arab States, Jan Dusík, Deputy Director-General of the European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action, Eric Usscher, Head of the UNEPFI Finance Initiative, and Sean Kidney, CEO and Co-Founder of the Climate Bonds Initiative, discussed how coordinated actions could contribute to transparency, regulatory compliance, and fast capital flow into sustainable initiatives. The panel, organised by the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan in partnership with the IFC - International Finance Corporation, included the launch of the 'Roadmap for Promoting Interoperability and Comparability of Sustainable Finance Taxonomies'. Taleh Kazimov, Governor of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan envisioned a proactive role in implementing this Roadmap. Alfonso García Mora, IFC Regional Vice President for Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean and Chair of SBFN, also called for strengthened action against climate change. ?? The China International Import Expo in Shanghai ???? From 5 to 10 November, we participated in China's leading annual national-level exhibition focused on trade. Specifically looking to attract investment and imports to China, it drew exhibitors from more than 170 countries. Representing us were Alexander Montanus, General Manager of our Beijing branch, and Vivian F., our Head of Institutional Clients China. ?? Alexander was invited to speak at a panel discussion on trade facilitation and investment development through the financial sector. He presented the characteristics of the CEE marketplace, ensuing opportunities for foreign investors and how we could support Chinese companies and financial institutions in their CEE trade and investment ventures. ?? Alexander's key takeaways are: ?? The strong representation of our home market with more than 120 CEE and Austrian corporate and institutional exhibitors underpins the substantial interest in mutual trade and investment. ???Chinese government representatives announced further opening measures to boost incoming foreign investment and reiterated their pro-internationalization agenda. ???One can therefore expect further outgoing Chinese corporate and institutional investments in CEE in select sectors where the country is a global innovation leader (e-mobility, green energy, green manufacturing, digital, infrastructure). ???Chinese banks are keen to cooperate with us in a complimentary role to support the increasing investment and trade flows to CEE and Austria. #MakeItHappen #ImportExpo #Trade

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the EU’s eastern enlargement, we hosted the "RBI CEE Night" on 5 November. The event featured honorary speakers and attendees who reflected on the key milestones of the past two decades and discussed the future of European enlargement. ?? The night included keynote speeches delivered by the former Federal Chancellor of Austria Wolfgang Schüssel and Valerie Brunner, member of our Management Board responsible for CIB Customer Coverage. This session was followed by a panel discussion that covered the most pressing questions. Among the other speakers, Aivaras Abromovicius, Chairman of Ukrainian Corporate Governance Academy, participated, and the discussion was moderated by Ivona Kristic Zametica, Chief Economist of Raiffeisen Bank dd BIH. ?? ? Both Wolfgang Schüssel and Valerie Brunner emphasized that new geopolitical changes and shifts create a window of opportunity to advance enlargement efforts. When asked about the potential of expanding the EU, Wolfgang Schüssel stated that the ‘‘CEE is the powerhouse of Europe.’’ ?
