As Latine Heritage Month comes to a close, we would like to also take a moment to recognize the communities that make part of our greater Latine Community within and outside of UC Berkeley. Please take a moment to read our statement below.

As Latine Heritage Month comes to a close, we want to send all our love to the incredible Latine community here at UC Berkeley and beyond! For all of those who joined us at Nuestra Palooza and made the night, the beautiful night it became. ????

The Raíces Outreach Committee is excited to announce their 14th annual Raíces Blossom Program!! We are inviting both 10th and 11th-grade Latine-identifying students with a 2.5 GPA or below to join us on a FREE overnight stay at UC Berkeley from Thursday, November 14th to Saturday, November 16th. Passionate about supporting fellow Transfer students succeed? ?Raíces Transfers? is excited to invite current Community College and UC Berkeley Students/ Alumni to be part of our 7th annual Raíces Transfer Student Program (RTSP)! ?? Started in 2018, the goal of this program is to help Latine community college students navigate their UC applications and to overall demystify higher education. Through workshops, mxntoring from a current UC Berkeley student, and providing other resources this program is intended to better prepare students to understand what it’s like to be a student of color at a UC institution. ?? UC Berkeley Latine Students – We Need You! ?? Are you passionate about helping the next generation of Latine students succeed? The Raíces K-12 Recruitment and Development Committee is looking for dedicated HYPHEE Mxntors to guide Bay Area Latine high school seniors through their college application journey as part of the 17th Annual HYPHEE Program: Helping Youth Pursue Higher Education Early! As a HYPHEE Mxntor, you’ll play a crucial role in demystifying the college application process for Latine high school seniors. This FREE 5-week program matches high school seniors with UC Berkeley Latine students who can provide guidance and support. Here’s what we’re looking for: ? Any CAL Latine student with the capacity and eligibility to mentor a Latine Bay Area senior in high school. ? Commitment: A minimum of 1 hour per week (every Sunday) to assist your mxntee by offering feedback on their PIQs/essays, helping them select and describe extracurricular activities, and more. Your support can make a world of difference in their college journey! Additionally, attending one of three mandatory minors training prior to the first day of HYPHEE. ?? Raíces' Intern and Volunteer Applications for Fall 2024 just dropped!! The Raíces Intern and Volunteer Program is open to all UC Berkeley community members who would like to help our coordinators with their FALL Retention & Recruitment programming while also gaining experience!! What is the difference between an intern & a volunteer? Interns take our weekly intern class on Wednesdays from 6-8 pm for 1 unit (45 hr commitment) or 2 units (90 hr commitment). We are excited to invite you to Nuestrapalooza which will be held on Thursday, February 1st from 5:00- 8:30 PM at Anna Head Alumnae Hall. ?? It is an event open for the whole comunidad!
