    (I was planning to post in French also, but this just got way too long of a message. Désolé pour ?a! ) TL;DR: If you would’ve told me 6 months ago that we’d make another hockey game, I would’ve told you to get lost. And yet, I'm happy we did! ?? This is the big day, Hockey Super Squad is out in a few hours only! I can’t help but reflect on the last few months at RageCure, a period that was stressful, as it was for most in the industry, but also where I witnessed a passionate team refusing to give up. Earlier this year, the release of Goons: Legends & Mayhem was an amazing experience for RageCure. Firestoke helped us push an amazing game out the door, on which we received a ton of great feedback. It was the culmination of so much work, a vision that had gone a long way from its inception in 2018. However, we couldn’t help but realize that this game failed to capture the attention of hockey players on PC. Fair enough: G:LAM is a wacky game based on hockey, but which has no real desire to feel like an actual hockey game. But we couldn’t accept the fact that we spent years building tight mechanics, progression systems, multiplayer interactions, all of which needed to be working online, and not have something for the hockey fans out there. This is where our quest to build the most accessible hockey game on PC started. But it felt wrong at first. It felt weird building another sports game. We toyed around with many formats, some of which were including Goons as a base game. But a few game dev angels came down from the sky, carried by an aura of wisdom. Their beautiful voices all sang said the same exact reassuring melody: This has to be another SKU. Crap. They were right. This had to be its own thing. This was very much the right call. Thank you mike ducarme, Jean Simon Otis, Guillaume Boucher-Vidal and Martin Brouard. In about 4 months, we managed to build an Early Access game that has been tested over and over again by our community. The feedback was raw, straight to the point, difficult to process sometimes, but it allowed us to build something that we are truly proud of. Thank you so much Discord warriors, you know who you are!     A few weeks ago, RageCure Games announced its next title, Hockey Super Squad. This free-to-play online multiplayer game is packing a lot of things we learned while developing Goons: Legends & Mayhem, and I couldn't be more proud of our team that managed to put together this second game with a new look, feel, progression, all while building tools to sustain its development in a clever way. The Early Access version will soon be available on Steam! ?? ?? *** Il y a quelques semaines, RageCure Games annon?ait son prochain jeu, Hockey Super Squad. Ce jeu multijoueur en ligne, offert en format free-to-play, rassemble une foule d'éléments appris lors du développement de Goons: Legends & Mayhem. Je pourrais difficilement être plus fier de notre équipe qui a su, en peu de temps, développer un nouveau look, un gameplay différent ainsi qu'une toute nouvelle progression pour ce jeu, tout en construisant des outils permettant de soutenir de fa?on intelligente son développement continu.     (Sorry for the English-only message, got too many words to say, and not enough time to translate ??) WARNING: Things might get emotional. ?? As many of my contacts will know, we launched RageCure Games back in 2020 and kept working on our first game since. My co-founders and I created this studio with a clear objective in mind: create games that are special and surprising, but most importantly, games that we would be proud of. Let’s be honest, the development of Goons: Legends & Mayhem has been anything but a peaceful ride. Personally, it represents my biggest career achievement, my most ambitious project and the thing that kept me up at night for good… and less good reasons. ?? This has been a huge team effort, with every team member pouring passion and creativity in what was shaping to be the game as close as possible to what we initially envisioned for a hockey game. In 2021, we were convinced we could never deliver this vision as our first project. Through hard work, crazy luck and naivete, we pushed through and went on with this vision. Mark Twain once wrote “They did not know it was impossible so they did it.” and I couldn’t find better words to describe how I feel at the moment. We met a lot of people along the way, and were blessed by the help of many that thought our endeavor was interesting and worth the trouble. We managed to convince Firestoke that our frantic version of a hockey game was something that was needed on the market. They helped us ship that vision, put up with our ambitions and provided feedback that sometimes felt like setbacks, but always allowed us to craft a better game. We couldn’t be more thankful for that. I would like to thank the whole Firestoke team, with a special shoutout to Paul Farley, Melissa Jane Lewis, Calum Watson, S. Omar Khalil and Dan G.. Finally, we met a lot of players during the many events we went to. Sometimes, they had a blast, sometimes they had feedback, sometimes they laughed, sometimes they were angry, but most importantly, they always made us realize that we were creating something special that they would want to play over and over. This alone was a good reason to keep pushing. Goons: Legends & Mayhem is out now and OF COURSE I’m gonna tell you to buy it or at least talk about it with everyone you know who loves party/sports games. But really, I can only wish for those who get their hands on the game to enjoy it as much as we’ve had crafting it all those years. That being said, we are still working on fixing some issues, polishing it and porting it to Nintendo Switch, but hopefully that first version will scratch that arcade hockey itch for quite some time. Other things are brewing at RageCure, and we can’t wait to share more details on it. Yes, I’ll leave you on that teaser. ?? Merci tout le monde!
