Dvorchak Enterprises LLC would like to invite you to attend the following course at Coatings TECH in Pittsburgh, PA on April 28 from 8 AM to 10:30 AM. Dvorchak Enterprises LLC very own Mike Dvorchak will present the course that has been the standard for the UV EB cure industry for over 25 years. This dynamic course has been presented over the years at the following venues; NASA, American Coatings Conference, International High Solids and Waterbourne Conference and CalPoly to name a few. Part I: Basic UV/EB Cure Coatings Technology The initial session will cover the fundamental principles of free radical chemistry, focusing on the application of 100% solids UV Cure Aromatic/Aliphatic Polyurethane, Epoxy, Polyester, and Polyether oligomers in conjunction with monomeric acrylates and specific photoinitiators. The discussion will further refine the concept by demonstrating the use of oligomer technology with minium acrylated monomers. The course will address surface inhibition issues in free radical chemistries and present techniques to mitigate these challenges. A review of various UV light sources will also be included, covering full spectrum UV light sources, UV A light sources in automotive and industrial applications, fluorescent UV lights, and UVA LEDs. Additionally, methods to ensure optimal performance of equipment and light sources will be described. The section will conclude with the technique of curing highly pigmented UV Cure Coatings. Part II: Advanced UV EB Cure Coatings Technology The second session will delve into advanced UV Cure coatings systems, particularly highlighting the development and application of UV dual cure 2-Component Polyurethanes in automotive clear coats. Discussions will include the automotive refinishing industry’s transition to UVA light technology for rapid body putty, primer, and clear coat repairs. Furthermore, the session will review advancements in UVA cure aerospace coatings and low drag 3D-printed ‘Shark Skin’ coatings. It will also explore new green technologies utilizing water and high MW polymers. The focus will be on how these UV coatings are formulated, applied, and employed in emerging markets. https://lnkd.in/eSGMsBge
