    ?? Major Trade Update: New Tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China! ?? On March 4th, 2025, the U.S. government imposed new tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, while tariffs on Chinese goods have increased. - Mexico & Canada: Most imports now face a 25% tariff, with Canadian energy products taxed at 10% instead. Certain HTSUS Chapter 98 goods, donations, and personal use items are exempt. - China: Tariffs doubled from 10% to 20%, meaning any goods that previously entered under the 10% rate must now pay the additional 10%. Goods in transit before Feb. 1st, 2025 may qualify for temporary exemptions. - Steel & Aluminum: New tariffs take effect March 12th, with Russian-origin aluminum subject to a 200% tariff. ?? What This Means: - No grace period—goods arriving after the deadline will be fully taxed. - Foreign Trade Zones must classify Mexican & Canadian imports as Privileged Foreign Status. - De Minimis shipments (Section 321) remain unaffected for now.
