Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc (RSCS) is celebrating Nuclear Science Week #nuclearsciweek by recognizing our employees making a positive impact in the field of #nuclearenergy. We spoke to John Cox, a Junior Health Physicist, to learn about his experience at RSCS! Q: What do you find interesting about working in the nuclear field as a Junior Health Physicist? A: Modeling is a fun challenge as it allows me to build something from the ground up and watch it work, even if it takes a few tries to get it right. Onsite training is a great experience. It gives me a chance to prove I have both the knowledge and understanding of the system involved, and the ability to pass it down to others. Q: Would you recommend young people enter the nuclear field? A: Absolutely! #nuclearpower is starting to come back into the forefront with the growing demand for data centers. Small modular reactors #SMRs are also something to keep an eye on. Additionally, there are many bright minds to learn from before they retire. There is an age gap in the workforce and new talents are in demand.
