?? Sealed radioactive sources are essential in industries like healthcare, energy, and manufacturing—but how do you ensure they remain safe? ?Regular sealed source leak testing is a must to prevent radiation exposure and stay compliant with NRC regulations. Key Steps in Leak Testing: ? Gather your testing kit & PPE ? Perform a precise wipe test on the source housing ? Secure and send the sample for lab analysis ? Review results & take action if needed ? Maintain accurate records for compliance View our step-by-step guide to sealed source leak testing here: https://lnkd.in/er2nzT4t To order a leak test kit: [email protected] #RadiationSafety #LeakTesting #RSOTraining

Celebrating Our Team on Employee Appreciation Day! ?? "Today, on Employee Appreciation Day, I want to take a moment to recognize and thank our incredible team at Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc. Your hard work, dedication, and expertise are the foundation of our success. Every project we take on is a testament to your commitment to excellence and safety. Whether ensuring compliance, delivering top-tier service, or supporting one another as colleagues, your efforts make a real difference—not just for our company and the Allied Power Platform, but for the clients and communities we serve. I’m truly grateful to work alongside such a talented and passionate team. Your contributions do not go unnoticed, and I appreciate everything you do to make RSCS a leader in our field. Thank you for your hard work, your dedication, and the energy you bring every day. Here’s to continuing our success together!" - James P. "Jay" Tarzia "RSCS was formed in 1989 by three principals: Eric Darois, James Tarzia, and Fred Straccia. During these early days, the business was a part-time endeavor. We experienced slow and steady organic growth through the years and today, under our parent company Allied Power LLC, we are a collection of over 500 dedicated employees doing quality work supporting a wide range of industries with general focus on radiation safety. I am quite humbled at this achievement, and we recognize that this could not have been possible without the dedication and incredible support of each of you. We have a great staff and a strong reputation throughout our industries and recognize and thank all of you on this national day of Employee Appreciation for helping RSCS achieve our success." - Eric Darois Allied Power #EmployeeAppreciation #RadiationSafety #Teamwork

Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc (RSCS)'s Matt Darois, CGWP and Robert Wills - RRPT, MBA of GEL Laboratories, LLC will present at Waste Management Symposia next week on “Radioisotopes: Soil Concern Nuclear D&D Sites.” ? Understanding how different radionuclides travel through soil and enter groundwater is a key factor in the decommissioning of nuclear facilities. The presentation examines the kinetics of radionuclide migration, providing insights into sample selection strategies and analytical methods for tracking their movement over time. ? In the context of a case study, multiple isotopes within a soil matrix are assessed to evaluate desorption patterns across various facility locations—including groundwater. The findings will help enhance accuracy in predicting radionuclide behavior, ultimately supporting safer and more efficient decommissioning efforts. ? ?? Stay tuned for the full presentation at #WMSym2025, and take a deep dive into these critical processes! ? #RadiationSafety #EnvironmentalMonitoring #GroundwaterScience #NuclearIndustry

#EngineerWeek is a great time to highlight two of RSCS’s Environmental and Engineering Team who are supporting Dominion Engineering, Inc. with refurbishment activities at a fire damaged fossil plant in Texas. Mansi shah (Civil) and Alejandro de Pablo (Architecture) are members of a team providing 24/7 field engineering support at the site. Mansi and Alejandro are running support for the structural team and any mitigation that falls under their purview, such as structural steel, MEP, and equipment replacement. The team has been surveying existing damage to structural members, as well as electrical structures and components. Additionally, they’re providing drafting and modeling support for equipment replacements. This has involved retrofitting replacement equipment of different physical specs. Engineering evaluations were necessary to assess clearance requirements within the facility as well as structural load requirements to accommodate the higher loads of the replacement equipment. Let's congratulate Mansi and Alejandro in their efforts this week! #Civiclengineer #Architecture #WomenInEngineering

Radiation Safety & Control Services, Inc (RSCS) is proud to be part of the vital work of determining the restart of NextEra Energy Resources Duane Arnold Nuclear Power Plant. The Iowa power plant first came online in 1975 and shut down in 2020. One of the many factors that contribute to the possibility of a plant restart is conducting an inspection project to gauge the conditions and feasibility of restarting operations.?RSCS will lead the internal survey of critical piping systems at DAEC using Deep Trekker Inc.'s Pipe Trekker A-150 Pipe Crawler. The portable crawler is fitted with a camera head and will survey pipe systems ranging in size between 8” and 24” Prior to the inspection work, RSCS will also digitize the critical piping systems in CAD. The Environmental end Engineering support team has considerable experience modelling systems structures and components in a 3D digital environment for asset management. https://lnkd.in/e8c4NsuZ
