Today Hazel Dukes was laid to rest. Dukes, a champion for Civil Rights, led the New York State Chapter of the NAACP for over four decades. She demonstrated an unyielding commitment and dedication by fighting for voting rights, adequate health care, equal education opportunities, and so much more. We are forever indebted to her fierce courage. She has and will continue to inspire emerging leaders locally and nationally. ? May her spirit, power, and commitment live on. Rest in Power Hazel Dukes.
