A customer of ours came to us with a request: "How do we automate item substitutions for backorders in NetSuite?" After some research, the limitations of the native Item Substitution feature made its use impossible. So we created a better solution with custom records and scripts that allows us to: 1) Configure substitution priorities, i.e. 1st priority, 2nd, 3rd, and so on 2) Plug in multiple substitution items instead of only one 3) Allow the use of Non-Inventory item types 4) Respect the substitution items' Available Quantity, preventing the dreaded "Backorder Loop" 5) Review substitution and error logs with Saved Searches Interested in learning more? We did a rebrand over the weekend! Racette Consulting's focus remains the same: we exist to provide exceptional service to our NetSuite clients, both Managed Services and New Implementations. We are putting the client in the middle of everything we do.
