Say hello to our new employees here at Rabble Mill/The Bay: Omar, Kayla and Xavier! Omar is from Brooklyn, NY, and has experienced many vibrant and diverse environments through his upbringing. This background fuels him to advocate for marginalized communities and to turn that advocacy into meaningful action. He is about to graduate with a master's degree in community development and is excited to bring what he has learned to our work. Omar is an accomplished athlete on the track. He's a two-time Big 10 champ, three-time Missouri Valley Conference champ and Franklin K. Lane High School's (shout out) first ever New York State Champion. Daaaaaayng! We are excited to have your community advocacy on our team as our new Youth Engagement Coordinator! Kayla was practically born and raised in Lincoln, NE, having moved there when she was 5. For the past 15 years, she has been immersed in the nonprofit world, working to uplift and connect with the Lincoln community. She loves to help students navigate their paths and help make connections with mentors, organizations, and companies in the community. Her path has shaped them into someone who wants to support others in their own journeys. We are very excited to see her bring this supportive attitude to the Workforce Development Program Manager position! Xavier grew up in South Omaha, Nebraska, in a tight-knit community that relied on and supported one another. Throughout his youth and into college, he has practiced many creative arts, from being in the percussion section of his high school band to being a videographer for Huskervision at UNL. Xavier is the founder of Local Art Plug (shout out!), an organization that works to increase accessibility to the arts, and helping creatives reach their full potential in Lincoln and Omaha. We warmly welcome his passion for community support to the Youth Engagement Coordinator position!

We're immensely grateful to have been one of a handful of community partners that were handpicked to participate in the second year of Douglas County Health Department's Project New Lens, a program that exposes North and South Omaha youth to new tools and activities to help them care for their own mental health. As part of our partnership, we introduced participating youth to the social-emotional benefits of both skateboarding and beatmaking (digital music), *AND* we were able to gift 15 brand new ATM Click skateboards and S1 helmets to our North Omaha youth through Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands ??. Many thanks to Jordan and Alejandra from DCHD, Adrial and team from BGC, and our good friends Jeff and Liam from Central Skate Shop for all of their help in this project. We look forward to being a part of Project New Lens again this fall!

WE’RE HIRING! We’re searching for a full-time Youth Engagement Coordinator to join us in our Lincoln office. The successful candidate will oversee after-school youth engagement programming, assist with ideation and execution of new programs and develop positive relationships with youth, parents, staff and community partners. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of youth programming experience, after-school availability, project management skills and experience working with at-risk youth.
