About the company: R&S was founded in 1963 by Robert Smith. His practical knowledge and service minded attitude were primary ingredients in the company’s early success. Originally a repair and installation business, quick growth and increased demand resulted in the start of limited production of a basic service door. Since then, regional manufacturing/distribution operations have been established to provide a full line of quality rolling door products to an expanding dealer network. Today, R&S remains mindful of its founding principles continuing to be “the manufacturers with the personal touch”. Present: There are now over 30 individually owned and operated installation companies serving all of California with manufacturing plants in Union City, California; Pomona, California and Portland, Oregon. R&S Automation, Inc. has divisions in Oregon and California. R&S steel rolling door and grille products can be found all over the world including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Korea and the Philippines.
