?? Congratulations to Dr. Bhakti Sharma, Ph.D. on her impactful talk on identity at an event for the Asian Affinity Group! Her insights on identity and belonging are a powerful reminder of the importance of representation in higher education. Having voices like Dr. Sharma’s helps to create a more inclusive, inspiring campus culture where all students and faculty feel seen and valued. Thank you for leading by example!#RepresentationMatters #HigherEd #Diversityandinclusion
Last evening, I had the privilege of speaking at an event for the Asian Affinity Group at Quinnipiac University, where I shared my reflections on identity. Titled "Tides Within: Identity and Self-Reflection," my talk was an opportunity to connect deeply with a community of educators and students from diverse backgrounds across Asia, each of us bringing our unique stories and perspectives. I was also honored to share the stage with Chancellor of Connecticut State Colleges and Universities System, Terrence Cheng who gave an insightful talk on "The Outsider and The American Dream", and Jason Koo who gave us a rendition of his beautiful poem from his new book "No rest". I thank Judy Olian Debra Liebowitz Stephanie Jacobson and David M. Fryson, Esq. for their support. And I am deeply grateful to Mohammad Elahee, Tilottama G. Chowdhury, @Sujata Gadkar-Wilcox, and Dr. Xi Chen for organizing this amazing event and thinking of me as a speaker.
