We are so grateful to Phil Rosenberg for speaking to GDD students about his career at Sony and how his team ensures that the Playstation provides an optimal experience for the content creators who partner with them. We learned a lot about the ecosystem of partnerships that support the game industry. Many thanks to Adam D. A recent survey found that over 90% of Gen Z workers want a mix of virtual and in-person work to reduce feelings of isolation. Professor of Psychology Carrie Bulger shared her insights with NBC Connecticut noting that this sentiment is affecting all generations, not just Gen Z. While flexibility remains key, Dr. Bulger suggests that companies should create more opportunities for in-person engagement and networking spaces for their employees. We’re so thankful that Carrie continues to share her expertise with local media on organizational psychology and the importance of creating better workplace environments. Check out her interview here. https://youtu.be/zLDxUUgLy4I?si=gOHAE6_UxbuJm8xi

We had a wonderful learning opportunity on Tuesday with Chris Barlow and John Mills at Quinnipiac University, who spoke about the 29th Connecticut Regiment, and the documentary linked below. This was the first Black regiment from Connecticut in the Civil War (https://lnkd.in/drwBPVdR). The film has won multiple awards, and Chris and John shared incredible historical information about the regiment in general, and about specific individuals who served in the regiment. Thank you to Quinnipiac University College of Arts & Sciences and the Hawley-Platt fund for making this event possible, so that the QU community can learn about this important history.

Congratulations to Carrie Bulger, professor of psychology at Quinnipiac University, who was quoted in The Globe and Mail? article,?“Got quiet quitters on your team? Assess your own managerial practices before critiquing.” Read the article at https://lnkd.in/ey7PQ_CB In the article, Bulger emphasized the importance of self-reflection among managers. She suggests that leaders should evaluate their own practices and workplace culture before criticizing employees who may be disengaged, as managerial behavior often influences team dynamics and morale. The Globe and Mail is a Canadian newspaper based in Toronto, widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential and respected publications. It provides national and international news, business reporting, and analysis on politics, culture, and current affairs. Founded in 1844, it has a reputation for in-depth journalism and investigative reporting. The paper is published in both print and digital formats and is often compared to The New York Times or The Washington Post in terms of its influence in Canada. Receiving international press coverage in a prestigious publication like The Globe and Mail is significant for Bulger, the Quinnipiac University College of Arts & Sciences and #Quinnipiac. It highlights the faculty's expertise, enhances the institution's reputation on a global scale, and showcases the university's commitment to contributing valuable insights to contemporary workplace discussions.
