We are pleased to share an exciting step in Quilted Health's journey: Quilted has been acquired by MultiCare Health System! MultiCare and Quilted Health have been trusted partners since 2022. This acquisition will not only transition Quilted to a subsidiary of a non-profit organization but also help us broaden our impact across the Pacific Northwest. Our mission to champion midwives and midwife-led care is unchanged. As we join MultiCare, we will continue to focus on our efforts on increasing access to midwives, delivering high-quality care, and building tools and services that support sustainable midwifery. We are excited for this next chapter of our story and the impact it will have for birthing people and midwives everywhere.

We are thrilled to be partnering with Lyft Healthcare to provide much-needed transportation to and from prenatal and postpartum appointments. https://lnkd.in/g8mhm77F
Regular prenatal appointments are crucial to a healthy pregnancy, but transportation can be a barrier to access for expectant mothers. That's why Lyft Healthcare is partnering with Babyscripts and Quilted Health to help expectant mothers get sponsored rides on the Lyft platform to and from their prenatal appointments. With the US maternal mortality rate at its highest level since 1965, increasing transit access is crucial to reducing the disparities in maternal and infant health outcomes. A great article that identifies many of the benefits of integrating midwives into our healthcare system. A few insightful stats: - Chile has less than half the number of maternal deaths as the US - They lowered their maternal mortality rate by 50% between 2000 and 2020 How did they do it? By having 80(!) midwives per 1,000 live births (the US has 4 per 1,000). #midwivessavelives https://lnkd.in/gRujJJyc
Chile’s effective integration of midwives into all levels of health care led the country to improved maternal outcomes and lower mortality rates. In this week’s International Insight, Evan D. Gumas draws valuable lessons for the U.S., where integration of midwives is limited.
Chile Has Far More Midwives and Far Fewer Maternal Deaths Than the U.S.

A few weeks ago, we hosted a webinar with NACPM about our Clinically Integrated Network - about why it's needed, how it works, and how it can help midwives and birthing people alike. If you're interested in learning more about how it works, you can watch the recording of our webinar presented by the amazing Jenna B., Brynne Potter, Melissa Mendez, and Louisa Severn https://lnkd.in/gnmn9ApW

Midwifery is paramount to solving the maternal health crisis. But in order to leverage the individualized care and positive outcomes that midwives create, it’s first necessary to build a sustainable work environment for midwives. Support on both a local and legislative level, equitable pay, and recognition for their work are all key ingredients to helping the midwifery workforce to grow and thrive. Clinically Integrated Networks are a model of collaboration that midwives can use to achieve all these things. The network model allows them to maintain their independence as providers while using their collective power to negotiate rates with payers, among other things. If you've been following us, you know we're building the first Clinically Integrated Network for Independent Midwives in the nation(!) In this webinar, we'll will share more about how the Clinically Integrated Network model works and how we’ve started to implement it. We'll cover why a Clinically Integrated Network is a good model for independent midwives, how it can improve the experience for both midwives and birthing people, and how a network can help bolster the national support for and recognition of midwives to achieve even greater outcomes. You can register for this free webinar via this link: https://lnkd.in/gaaDJqAg Can't make it? No worries! This webinar will be recorded for your convenience.

We're ecstatic to officially introduce the Quilted Health Clinically Integrated Network ?? Midwives deserve to be paid better, supported more, and championed as the type of care provider who prioritizes relationship-building and bodily autonomy that leads to better outcomes. Our network does all 3 and more. You can learn more via this link: https://lnkd.in/gmXUNMHQ
