Where people, plants, and cultures meet.

关于我们

Queens Botanical Garden is an urban oasis where people, plants, and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs, and demonstrations of environmental stewardship. ********************************************************************************************************************************** Located at the northeast corner of Flushing Meadows-Corona Park in Flushing, QBG evolved from the 5-acre “Gardens on Parade” exhibit showcased at the 1939-1940 New York World’s Fair. Officially opening as Queens Botanical Garden in 1948 after local residents saved and grew the original exhibit, QBG has become a 39-acre urban oasis in one of the city’s most bustling and diverse neighborhoods. QBG is an urban oasis where people, plants and cultures are celebrated through inspiring gardens, innovative educational programs and real-world applications of environmental stewardship. QBG is located on property owned by the City of New York, and its operation is made possible in part by public funds provided through the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, Queens Borough President, the New York City Council, State elected officials, the New York State Department of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, along with corporate, foundation, and individual supporters. Under the leadership of our Horticulture team, volunteers worked hard to plant 1600 tulip bulbs and mulch the bed as well! Thank you so much for all your hard work that will ensure we have a beautiful revolving annual display to welcome and delight visitors to the Garden throughout the year. All of us at QBG would like to send a heart-felt thank you to all the amazing The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey volunteers who attended our?Horticulture Volunteer Day! It was such a pleasure to welcome you all to the Garden on a beautiful fall day and to participate in your annual September 11 Remembrance Through Renewal Volunteer Program. ? The volunteers were instrumental in helping to care for our Gingko and Maple tree collection. The team weeded and mulched 15 tree pits and helped to level the ground with new soil to make our entrance Garden more welcoming and to ensure the health of our collection. We also visited the 9/11 memorial tree in the Pinetum. With the leadership of our Horticulture team, volunteers worked hard to ensure healthy trees throughout the busy fall season. A fun time was had by all! Thank you so much for all the support that made this event a success. The QBG team is very grateful for the extra support to keep our Garden welcoming, green, and growing.
