Today is a monumental day for D-Wave. The esteemed journal Science has published our peer-reviewed paper which shows the first true demonstration of quantum supremacy on an important and useful problem. What took D-Wave’s system minutes to achieve would take the Frontier supercomputer nearly one million years and more than the world’s annual electricity consumption. This is definitive – an achievement that everyone in the quantum industry is aspiring to achieve, and we’ve done it. Our system can solve useful problems that classical computers cannot.
