I'm exploring a potential conference talk this fall at #ALTAONE & #NS3 with Tyler Lee & Elizabeth J. Wysong Berg, ITP, NTP and I’d love your input. The topic focuses on a transition we don’t talk about nearly enough in our industry: How to support operations leaders as they step into executive roles. Most enablement content at title and escrow conferences centers on onboarding and training entry-level staff. That’s important—but what about the high-performing operations professionals who get promoted into executive roles with little guidance on how to make that leap? The reality is, the skills that make someone great at running production don’t always translate to executive success. Staying too deep in the weeds can cause misalignment in an executive position even though its instinctual to an operations leader. Without support, many new executives end up learning through trial and error—figuring out how to shift their mindset, communicate across departments, and work with leaders who may not have operational backgrounds. I want to help change that by offering actionable strategies for companies to support this transition. Have you experienced this shift—or worked with someone who has? I’d love your feedback. Vote in the poll below and feel free to comment with what you wish you’d known earlier in your career.
