Quadel Consulting has been a leading national expert in public housing since 1975, working with local agencies to improve or administer Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) programs, HUD-subsidized multifamily housing programs, Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs, disaster recovery housing services and more. At Quadel, our team members create spaces that inspire them, reflecting both their personalities and passions. This month, we're taking a peek at what makes their workspaces special. Here's what Kelly from our training team shared: "I have a hockey wall above my desk that brings me peace on the crazy days of coordinating trainings. (Notice my picture from Quadel’s Christmas Party, I must get a frame for it). The sticks are signed by my favorite players, and I have pictures with a few of my favorites. Yes, just a little crazy about hockey."

At Quadel, we know that the little things on our desks aren’t just office supplies—they’re part of what keeps us focused, motivated, and balanced throughout the workday. This month, we asked our employees to share the one desk accessory they can't live without. For Shana Morgan Opara, that game-changer is a productivity timer. "I can rotate it to start the timer for 5, 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes of activity. Not only do I use it to maximize my productivity during the day (especially on the days my focus is buzzing about), but it also helps document the time it takes to complete tasks for new projects so I can relay this information, when necessary, and provide better guidance and assistance to the team to aid in team management and team productivity, overall. The timer will also document the amount of time you are over the selected time which really comes in handy when I am recording new tasks based on estimates from previous projects. It dually allows me to make time for myself throughout the day. It comes in handy with personal tasks, as well, when I want to dedicate a certain amount of time to one activity before I move on to another (i.e. exercise, reading, preparing for the next day, media time, etc.)." It’s these personal touches that remind us that each person on our team is an individual - and we are each finding our own ways to work smarter, stay balanced, and bring our best every day.
