We’re pleased to announce a new name for our Public Safety Department, now officially known as the Quad Cities International Airport Police and Fire Department. This change more accurately reflects the critical services they provide to ensure the safety and security of our travelers. While the name may be new, their mission remains the same: safeguarding passengers and delivering the high level of service you’ve come to expect from us.

The QC Airport has been awarded $2.77 million from the FAA to address crucial drainage work on the airfield. “The Metropolitan Airport Authority of Rock Island County appreciates the continued support of Senators Durbin and Duckworth as well as Congressman Eric Sorensen in securing discretionary federal funding to support the Quad Cities International Airport,” Executive Director Benjamin Leischner, A.A.E. said. “This money will be used to improve airport safety by eliminating standing water on the airfield that has historically been an attractant to wildlife. Construction is estimated to begin next year with a local contractor.”
