Here is some food for thought from our CEO! Following your passion is a misconception. In our Designing Your Life program, we explore the idea that passion is something one builds through dedicated effort and mastery. Passion is an output, not an input, and it sustains only when aligned with one's strengths. #designingyourlife #designthinking #stanford #passion #lifedesign

Statutory Warning: "Follow Your Passion" is a lie. This is something we talk about, animatedly discuss?and debate, in the Designing Your Life programmes and the Life Design Lab course. Sharing from another thread, and more, here's why one believes follow your passion is dangerous advice! Because, you don't find your passion?and then follow it; you "build it" slowly by putting great effort into something that lights you up and makes you feel strongly about it until you get some level of mastery. Passion is an "output" and not an "input." (general excitement and interest in something are inputsa starting points.) Because, if you start pursuing your passion?(actualky, that exciting thing) it will sustain ONLY if you continue to do well in it in some relative terms. It then develops into being a passion worth following. Because, Passion fades soon if "what one loves doesn't match what one is good at". And if one isn't good at it, making it a profession is risky—only to be disappointed later. Wishing you a flourishing life. Post Script: What are the Archetypes?of Passion? (Quoting Steve Rose (SR)): "Passion means sacrificial suffering as well as strong sexual desire. Referring to both sex and death, passion encompasses the cycle of life in one word. The Latin origin of passion is “pati,” meaning “suffer,” and the word gained popularity in Christian theology referring to the sacrificial suffering of martyrs. Although passion can still refer to pain and suffering – as seen in?The Passion of the Christ?– today, the word mainly conjures up strong connotations of pleasure and desire. Both passionate martyrs and passionate lovers share the ability to lose themselves in an act. One suffers the cost of great pain, while the other derives pleasure. The martyr and the lover are the archetypes of passion and we need them both when developing a passion. Losing oneself in one’s work is not an eternal bliss. The pain and pleasure of passion are intertwined, rewarding those on the journey who persevere."

???????????? ???????????????? ?????? ???? | ?????? ???????? ???? ????????? While organizations are increasingly reaping the rewards of data history on the business side of things, we find that many are missing out on the benefits they offer when used in combination with design thinking for HR. Mastering the interplay between data history and design thinking unleashes the potential to transform HR challenges into opportunities for innovation and growth. Here's why diving into your data history is essential: 1. Identifying Patterns and Trends By examining historical data, HR can uncover patterns and trends that inform the current state of employee engagement, performance, and retention. This historical perspective helps in understanding what has worked well and what hasn't, providing a solid foundation for future strategies. 2. Defining the Right Problems Effective design thinking starts with identifying the right problems to solve. Data history allows HR professionals to pinpoint recurring issues and areas of concern that may not be immediately visible. This ensures that the challenges addressed are both relevant and impactful. 3. Gaining Insights for Informed Decisions Historical data provides valuable insights into employee behaviors and preferences. These insights are critical for designing solutions that are tailored to meet the actual needs and expectations of employees, leading to more meaningful and effective outcomes. 4. Balancing Business, Data, and People A comprehensive approach to problem-solving in HR involves balancing business objectives, data-driven insights, and the employee experience. Historical data serves as a bridge that connects these elements, enabling HR to make decisions that are not only data-informed but also human-centered. 5. Driving Continuous Improvement The iterative nature of design thinking aligns perfectly with the continuous improvement mindset. By regularly reviewing past data, HR teams can measure the impact of implemented solutions, iterate based on feedback, and continuously refine their approaches for better results. Let's make HR more human by leveraging the power of data and Design Thinking! #designthinking #humanresources #HR #designthinkingforhr #designthinkingforhumanresources #workshop
