The ASABE Quad City Section is hosting a virtual Continuing Education Seminar "Engineering Influenced by Human Factors" on April 7th 2:00-4:30pm CST. This seminar will be held virtually via MS Teams and the cost is $5. The Seminar is open to all. A certificate for 2hrs credits / PDUs can be requested by attending this Seminar. ? Anne McLaughlin, Ph.D, is a Professor in the Department of Psychology at North Carolina State University. Dr. McLaughlin will talk about human psychology and how our biases and instincts can influence our behaviors, and what that means for how we should design our products for our customers. This session is relevant for traditional machines, automation, and autonomous solutions. 2025 Scholarships Announced for High School Students Pursuing STEM Careers The Quad-City and Engineering Council, or QCESC, held the 63rd annual STEM Celebration on February 20, 2025. The event celebrates and showcases the region's Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) professionals, educators, and the next generation of STEM professionals. At the event, held during National Engineers Week, 15 scholarships valued at a total of $30,500 were awarded. This was the 32nd year that the QCESC has awarded STEM scholarships to encourage students to pursue STEM careers. Including this year, 259 scholarships have been awarded valued at over $440,000.
